An AWESOME Batwoman promo poster! + The snyopsis of episode 1 of season 2

One last post for 2020.

Yesterday I felt like a child on christmas as a late christmas gift appeared on the CW social media accounts. 🙂

It was THIS season 2 promo poster:

Oh…..my …..GOD!!!!

Love how her cowl is presented by her, while her face stays in the shadows 🙂

My mouth was wide open as I found the twitter post with this one.

As soon as I find a real big version of this one I will order a poster with this asap.

*EDIT*

Here is the synopsis for episode 1 of season 2:

Spoiler title
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN – Kate’s friends and family hold on to hope that Kate may still be found, a homeless 25-year-old named Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) stumbles upon Kate’s Batsuit.  Focused on no longer being a victim, Ryan takes the suit to use as armor and goes rogue in the streets of Gotham, taking out various members of a new gang called the False Face Society.  Meanwhile, both Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson) launch searches for Kate, Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) grapples with losing yet another family member, Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) struggles with things left unsaid to her first love, and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) is furious that someone got to Kate before she could exact her revenge.  At the same time, “Bruce Wayne” (guest star Warren Christie) returns under the pretense of searching for Kate, but the truth is he wants his suit back and it becomes the clash of imposters as “Batwoman” and “Bruce” square off in the action-packed season premiere. Holly Dale directed the episode written by Caroline Dries (#201).  Original airdate 1/17/2021.  Every episode of BATWOMAN will be available to stream on The CW App and CWTV.com the day after broadcast for free and without a subscription, log-in or authentication required.

Just 17 more days to the start of season 2!

Official promo pictures of the NEW Javicia Leslie Batwoman costume!

FINALLY!

The CW released these two promo pictures of Javicia Leslie in her NEW Batwoman costume (will debut in episode 3 of season 2):

DAMN!
I am (positively) surprised!
Love these new shiny, smooth panels on her costume! Very sexy
Also the red gauntlets are awesome. Thanks god the cowl didn’t get smaller/less concealing like I feared.
The cowl has a chin strap again!

This really fuels my anticipation for season 2 after we got practically nothing in regards of promo pictures and no teaser or trailers so far!

Right now I have a big smile on my face 🙂

Stargirl – Season 1, episode 10 – Wildcat and Stargirl VS Brainwave, Dragon King and his henchmen

….yeah, Hourman and Dr. Mid Nite were also there, but only at the end and they don’t get involved in the main fight.

After the last episode with practically no action….this one delivered big time!

The whole team is back in action as they try to free Brainwave. So we get a great action scene and a ….dramatic….finale in this episode.

Preview:

And here are the videos:

(I cut out some scene with Hourman and Dr. Mid Nite so the scenes would fit into 2 video with under 5 minutes each)

[SPOILERS ahead! Watch the episode before you go on!]

Love the fight scene in the first video, very well made! Good to see how Wildcat and Stargirl are working together.

Ok, mainly Wildcat has to save Stargirl’s neck, but good she saves her team captain as she needed it.

Also it was interesting to finally see the face of the Dragon King. Pretty sure he survived that blast….as surviving is his speciality 😉

The henchmen of the Dragon King could use an “upgrade”. Basically they seem completely mindless, they are unarmed and are “only” a threat in big groups. Pretty much like Zombies….just without the teeth.

I really love the ending. Dark, bitter and sad…..but very fitting. Brainwave was always a maniac (in the TV show), so killing his son was a fitting choice.

And now Brainwave’s memory is back which means he knows who Stargirl is. Won’t be hard to figure out the others.

This is exactly why Stargirl should have finished the job as she defeated him. He was in a coma, but there was the chance that he would awake form it. Ok, would be kind of “unheroic” to kill someone in a coma….but he is an evil maniac who knew too much. And now Henry is dead, that wouldn’t have happened. Well ok, his whole story would change completely then as he wouldn’t discover his abilities this early.

A part of me hopes that Brainwave would now go after Pat, Barbara and/or Mike to get his revenge on Stargirl. That would show Courtney how important it is to keep a secret identity…..secret.

Looking forward to the last 3 episodes of the season!

Stargirl – Season 1, episode 9 – Wildcat VS Henry

The newest Stargirl episode didn’t had much action.

Well, it had barely none to be honest. Stargirl wasn’t at all in the episode, but at least Wildcat got some screentime…even it was less than 90 seconds…..

And here is the video:

[SPOILERS ahead, watch the episode first]

The episode title is “Brainwave” and that shows what this episode is about. Most of the episodes were focusing on one character so his/her origin story and to focus on him.

And that’s a little problem what I have with this show so far. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the show and especially enjoy all scenes with Stargirl and Wildcat. But now with 9 out of 13 episodes of season 1 aired…..the real story of the show JSA vs ISA hasn’t really moved forward since they are focusing so much on character introduction.

On one hand that’s a good thing, because you really get to know the characters. On the other hand the main storyline and the action comes too short.

And after episode 9 “Brainwave”…the next one is called “Brainwave Jr.”.

The scene with Wildcat was nice, even I really hate these mind reading abilities as Henry knew immediately that Yolanda is Wildcat 🙁

They really need to get him onto their side…otherwise they would have a massive problem.

However, it was an interesting episode as to see the background of Brainwave and how his son is handling it.

Also the dinner with Jordan aka Icicle was intense as one of the big villains was at the some table with Courtney.

No big surprise, Brainwave is finally awake now, and as he knows Stargirl secret as well……another big danger arises for the team.

And luckily, judging from the trailer for the next episode, we seem to get some action at least in the next one:

How do like the last episode?

Stargirl – Season 1, episode 4 – Stargirl and Wildcat

In this new episode Stargirl starts to recruit Wildcat for the Justice Society.

And there are quite a lot of scenes with both of them, I made 3 videos as they each can’t be too long!

Preview (for all 3 videos):

And here are the videos:

Quite a nice amount of masked women screentime! 😉

[SPOILERS ahead, I recommend to watch the episode first!]

The episode worked well as an introduction episode for Wildcat. We get to know her background story with the incident that lead to the “slut shaming” from which Yolanda still suffers every day.

Her cowl not only hides her identity, it empowers her, the suit suddenly fits and she has all skills of a cat! Which would make an unmasking even more interesting!

I hope that some villain wants to take a look at her face that is hidden behind that mask one day.

There is little action in this episode and no fights at all. But I’m sure Wildcat will have to prove her skills in combat soon enough.

And Stargirl needs to learn an important lesson: NEVER call another (masked) vigilante by her/his real name! When the mask is on…she is Wildcat, dammit!

I really hate such scenes as it here unmasks Wildcat in the worst way possible.

Ok, lucky for them it’s a future teammate, but nonetheless I don’t like secret identity reveals like that one.

Can’t wait to see those two in battle against some villains!

What do you think about this episode?

Stargirl – Season 1, episode 2 – Stargirl VS Brainwave

The 2nd episode of Stargirl has aired and we do see her in the costume and mask for the first time!

Also she does have a nice, perilous fight against Brainwave!

And here is the video:

A good episode in my eyes.

Ok, I have my usual problems with these teenagers issues and all the fantasy stuff. But that are rather minor problems.

[SPOILERS ahead! Watch the episode first!]

[SPOILERS ahead! Watch the episode first!]

[SPOILERS ahead! Watch the episode first!]

The scenes with her trying to find Brainwave in her school while he was looking for her at the same time, was a nice secret identity peril scene.

Especially as he discovered her, saw her face and knew her name.

The fight against Brainwave was very good and you can see that they have a bigger (CGI-)budget as many shows from the Arrowverse for example.

For a moment I thought he would even go for her mask, even he already knew who she is. Luckily he is out of the game for now, so her secret identity is safe for now.

So her mask really provides her with a secret identity and isn’t just decoration. I do hope the the next villains will be interested in finding out who is under that mask.

And here are two promo pictures for episode 4, which will be aired on June 8:

Well, I must say, a pretty cool mask that really hides her face!

And it hides her so well, that from what I can see on these pictures….I thought the actress would be a teenager, but actually the actress is 27! 😆

But ok, Brec Bassinger who plays Stargirl is 21 and her character is 15. So will Wildcat be 15 in the show as well while Yvette Monreal is 27? Would be kind of….bizarre.

Well, I am very much looking forward to this one! On IMDB she is listed for all 13 episodes but no mention that she is Wildcat as well.

Hopefully she will be around for the rest of the season!

I wonder how these two will meet in costume. Surely they will fight together VS the villains. With two masked women I really hope for some unmasking action/peril in the season!

Masks Off #40! – One of the weirdest unmaskings in comic history! [Batwoman]

Today, this is post 1 of 2 for today!

First I wanna present one of the weirdest unmaskings in comic history!

In this old comic Kathy Keene is married to Bruce Wayne and wants to assist him as a crime fighter.

She puts on a Batman costume she fixed so that it would fit her and becomes the first Batwoman.

But soon there is trouble….

(click to enlarge the image to full size)

Well, that is weird for quite some reasons!

Seemingly her cowl isn’t attached to her cape! Why is that? And it just flies away? It doesn’t tear or rip?

This way it looks like her cowl was some kind of hat without a chin strap or a connection to the cape.

And you clearly see the age of this comic, she is a rather helpless woman, stumbles on the scene, calls Batman “darling”, gets unmasked and thereby ruins his carreer as well…just in a matter of seconds.

The current Batwoman (from the comics and the TV show) was a highly modified version of this one and debuted in 2006.

I used to know from which comic issue this was taken….

Can someone who knows help out here? I would add that info to the post.

And now I wanna present a newer and modified version that focuses on the UNMASKING from a talented artist made on DeviantArt:

In this one the whole cape flies away, what makes at least a lot more sense!

However “unmasked by a wind machine” is still a very ODD unmasking type 😉

You should check out more of his work, as he focuses on masked heroines and their unmaskings:

Alzi Prodution” on Youtube

He has made a lot of videos with Batgirl, Batwoman, Catwoman, Black Cat, Spider-Gwen and Spider-girl already.

He casts gorgeous women and puts them in sexy costumes and masks!

And of course they get unmasked sometimes 😉

Here are some screenshots from some of his videos:

Teenwing: Into The Breach

BlueStone presents a new sidekick for Darkwing, one of my favorite superheroines!

Now we have Teenwing who tries to find her partner.

But the murderous Contractor is already awaiting her…. 😉

Here is the trailer for starters:

And some pictures as well:

Some pictures with “a little more to see” can be found here:

My opinion on this:

As much as I love the Darkwing series …I do enjoy her sidekicks in action as well!

And Teenwing has one big advantage, in my opinion: That beautiful cowl of hers!

It’s a very, very, very rare sight to find such a quality mask in SHIP videos. And it fits really well on her head 🙂

Don’t get my wrong, Darkwing’s cowl is great as well, but I do prefer this one as this is the desgin from the last Batman video game.

I really enjoyed this video and the Contractor is a very good opponent.

Newcomer Beth M. does a decent job as the new heroine and looks stunning as Teenwing and as her civilian self.

P.S.: Happy Birthday RUBY ROSE (34) aka BATWOMAN!

Darkwing 20 – Breach of Contract

One of my favorite heroines is back in action!

And Darkwing looks stunning as always, her curves, her cowl, the sexy pantyhose and those boots….. an awesome outfit for sure! And, Yvonne looks great in it 🙂

This time Darkwing has to battle the Contractor, who has his own, twisted plan for her!

Here is the trailer:

And here are some official images (some are slightly censored by me):

You can see the uncensored versions here, incl. some more pictures:

https://www.superheroineforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33265

My opinion:

I really like that the Contractor doesn’t “only” wanna defeat Darkwing….he has some other “interests” as well 😉

In the past most of her enemies seemed completely immune to her stunning appearance and were focused on defeating Darkwing.

This video delivers a lot of well-done peril scenes with a masked heroine with a great outfit and body.

If you ask me….there are not many SHIP videos out there that can deliver that.
