This scene drives me mad big time… but it’s also very interesting! 🙂
Ok, the (evil) anti-vigilante guys are looking for Karen Page, so she only goes into public areas with a wig and often sunglasses.
Here she is wearing her wig and a mask… like many other protesters, so she blends in fine.
Her disguise is very good, and no one would recognize her.
But then things fall quickly apart.
For no (obvious) reason, she pulls down her mask for the first time… maybe the old… “we can’t show our lead actress masked for too many seconds” trope again. 🙁
Or her character is careless like hell…. or both. 🙁
Then she pulls her mask back on again, but then pulls it off again for no reason.
At first, I thought a cop/anti-vigilante task force guy would yank her wig off, but no.
That seems to be some protester with a gas mask… but not entirely sure.
But what is happening there? Is she in the way? He pushes her and grabs her (false) hair.
He rips the wig off and is gone.
That seems so weird. So he ripped her wig off by accident and just ran off? Why did he grab her hair? Seems so very odd for some reasons.
Or was it on purpose? But why? And how did he know it was a wig?
However, it’s a great reveal when she is now fully exposed without her mask and wig.
It’s weird that she doesn’t put her mask back on, as that is still easily available to her.
But ok, she cares more about her friend who got knocked down.
Therefore, a leader of the anti-vigilante task force is recognizing her immediately.
A nice cliffhanger at the end of the episode 🙂
It drives me mad how poorly she manages to keep her face hidden in this.
2 self-unmaskings for no reason, and then her wig gets ripped off, and she fails to react to that.
Still a very interesting scene.

As a BONUS, I got two more videos for you from the show.

Yeah, she is a reporter in the underground who portrays the criminal mayor of New York, Wilson Fisk, who is a gangster boss in the first place.
She is perfectly disguised with that massive rubber mask.
Damn, how much I would love it if the bad guys would storm into the studio and rip that mask apart in front of the camera….. 😉

One more:
Yeah, no masked woman in this one.
But still a great “imagine if” moment as the unmasking is done quite well.
I enjoyed watching the show quite a lot, even though it did frustrate me a LOT as well… from the “mask” perspective.
These scenes already hint at certain problems of the show.
She appears in her mask, runs away from cops… great suspense, great setting… and she looks hot in her catsuit and mask.
Ok, I get that she unmasks while she is climbing, her face is hidden, more or less.
But then she escapes from the tower and runs around in the city, she NEVER puts on her mask back on again!?!! WHY?!?!?!
That makes no sense at all! But I guess it was the old “we can’t hide the face of our beautiful actress behind a mask for too long” trope. Damn producers!
So, she may go around without her mask, even though the danger of anyone seeing her (or her getting caught by a camera) is insanely high!
The villainess sees her face, and some civilians may have gotten a pretty good look at her as well.
But let’s ignore logic and rather present her pretty face without a mask 🙁
Damn, I cursed at my TV when I saw it 😆
Still, it is a great chase on the tower, I love the suspension of a masked woman like her being chased. A great thrill!
And that detective is actually in love with the woman behind the mask… which makes it even better 🙂

Ok, let’s start with some context:
She was in love with the young guy as they were younger.
They were even about to marry. He was away for 6 months and she became very ill in the meantime.
She got smallpox and barely survived it… but had these massive scars on her face as a result of her illness.
She hid from him and canceled their relationship.
Years later she became a … well… masked prostitute… for the wealthy.
This way she could earn a living while hiding (most of) her face.
Well, I really admire his restraint… I mean she teases him all the time, hiding her face behind that mask.
He doesn’t even try to unmask her, even as they have sex! That is some respect.
But ok, on the other hand….it must be also insanely thrilling… to be in love with that masked woman, desiring her, but not unmasking her… despite that many opportunities.
And it takes A LOT of trust from her side, letting him that close while hiding under that mask.
Ironically she is then weirdly unmasked by that woman that she has known since she was down with the “disfigured” smallpox victims (earlier in the movie).
The unmasking is down quite well, a “NO!” and a great reaction to the unmasking!
Hiding her face between her hands… until she gives in and takes them away revealing her face to the guy.
He is the first of her customers who sees her face.
Later on, the young(er) guy also learns her secret identity… but without an unmasking, resulting in a lame reveal.
But the unmasking that we get … is pretty great, especially after all that screentime with her under the mask.

I stumbled upon this one by pure chance.
I saw the movie poster and knew….. this one should be interesting 😉
There are PLENTY of fitting scenes in this movie… basically half the movie.
I decided to make this one a two-parter.
I will post two scenes today and will make another video(s) for next Sunday.
And I will not reveal the movie title today… I will do that next Sunday to build up some anticipation.
You know… “anticipation is half the pleasure” or as we would say here “anticipation is the best pleasure” (translated) 😉

I think these scenes are a perfect example of how to build up some tension.
She sits in front of a mirror, and slowly puts her mask on, while the camera never shows her face 🙂
She also puts on the hat with the veil, which is basically a second mask to disguise her further.
Everyone is watching her as the mysterious, masked woman enters the opera.
The men especially get intrigued while the women rather get ….jealous 😉
I love the tension in the dialogue. The two men don’t know who is behind the mask and the guy next to her also speaks about how “cruel” she is by hiding her beautiful face.
Damn, that is a verrry sexy scene for me!
That’s how you make an erotic scene without showing anything at all… in several ways.
Yeah, her interpretation of being Zorro is rather …..unusual 😆
At this point in the story, she is more like a villainess than a heroine.
I really enjoy the scenes a lot where she is masked. It’s a good disguise (apart from the face paint she is also using without the mask) and besides her people and him, nobody knows who she is underneath that mask.
The secret identity is intact. But that might change in a future episode… 😉
The quick self-unmasking and re-masking here is also a nice treat in this one.

She and her partner love to spy on the neighbors with binoculars and now they even wanna install a microphone at the apartment of a guy across the street!
So they go to a party that he is hosting to have fun and put that microphone in place there…

Well, with that wig and mask… she is disguised very well!
A shame that there isn’t a scene in it with an unmasking or costume change.
Also, I do like that she is wearing a pantyhose with her costume even though that feature is mostly hidden in the dark or off-screen.
The masked guy even touches her pantyhosed legs as he is carrying her on his shoulder…. #naughty
In this scene, she is already pretty intrigued by him and they will have a very sexy scene later on where Sydney is showing … a lot!

I created this video last year for the annual “October to Remember” event on the “Behind the Mask” forum.
It’s time that the video now gets available for visitors here and on my YouTube channel as well!
Here is the original text from my forum post then:
I worked on this over a couple of hours, skipped through the whole season, made notes, and rated scenes. Then I cut every scene to around 30 seconds or so. I edited all of that together and added some pictures, lettering, and some score.
So what did I make? Quite a long video with my TOP 25 scenes of the Black Scorpion show. My initial idea was to make a TOP 22… because of 22 episodes… but well…. 25 sounds cooler. I could have made a TOP 50 with good scenes as well… but I think this video took long enough. I will upload this one to my blog in December… but for the next … at least … 5 weeks this is an exclusive video for this site (unlisted on Youtube). Between the TOP 10 scenes, you will see official Black Scorpion promo pictures.
So, take your time (15 minutes) and I hope you enjoy it! ….perhaps you might even wanna make a game out of it in terms of guessing which scenes will be in the TOP 10 or so…. …. the first scene will begin after 15 seconds….

Some scenes were edited to make them a little more compact… so that the video wouldn’t get too long.
I thought about putting headlines into the video like “Black Scorpion gets unmasked by Flashpoint” … but that would spoil it… for those few who don’t know these scenes.

Let’s start with the bad aspects:
There is no unmasking action or any secret identity issues in this scene and the entire show. 🙁
But… on the good side:
You have three hot women in masks… and that in a quite lengthy heist! Some day I have to re-edit the whole heist scene from all the episodes into one video.
Which will be quite difficult with all the time jumps…
Plus the masks are very interesting with that unusual look! They offer quite a good disguise.
It’s a shame that there were so many guards in that heist… but it’s just a massive shootout. Pretty cool, but only in regard to stylish action scenes.
In my version, I would have included some hand-to-hand combat scenes with guards who are curious to see who is under these masks 😉
All in all, I like the whole season, as is a good thriller show with interesting characters.
I will re-watch this one in some years.
I don’t think there will be a second season, as the storyline is “finished”, but I wouldn’t mind a second season… with some more masked women of course 😉
