Spider-Woman gets unmasked by villainess! [Masks off! #47]

An old classic that needs to be on this blog!

Thanks to the nice guy who reminded me about this scene 🙂

In this one Spider-Woman faces a villainess… and they do know each other already!

Ok, there is too much text on these pages for a comic and I am not the biggest fan of the art style.

But… we do have a lot of secret identity talk and thoughts plus an actual unmasking!

Ok, it’s not completely clear if she intended to unmask her or just tried to stop her from getting away… I would say the latter.

Also, I think it’s a little odd that Spider-Woman thinks “My Wig!” instead of “My Mask!” but ok… just a detail.

A fine example of how such a wig, attached to the mask… can be really problematic! 😉

Also as she admits to herself… she needs to protect her secret identity much better…

It’s uncool that the villainess already knows that Jessica is Spider-Woman, but that way we get some nice “secret identity” talk beforehand.

All in all …a good unmasking!

Female Dark Moon Knight gets unmasked! [Masks off! #46]

Lately, I have become a little lazy when it comes to checking out the new comics for interesting scenes with masked women.

So thanks for the nice guy who posted about this one on a forum!

Quite rare stuff!

Not often do you see someone rip open the full-face mask of a masked woman!

Also nice that they talk about it a little… that he wants to see her face and that she says “You won’t get the chance!”.

Even the reader only gets that comment as he is already ripping her mask… a little late.

Would have been cool if there had been one small extra panel with her masked face delivering that line. And a “RIIIIIPPP” text would have been nice as well 😉

I do like that he is curious enough to unmask her, that should be the normal reaction if you fight against a masked woman/man, especially with a full-face mask.

So many villains just don’t care enough 🙁

Now, after he exposed her face he knows who she is and can see her (facial) reactions. She isn’t protected by her mask anymore and is more vulnerable now.

*EDIT September 3*: At first she manages to blind him and prevents him actually seeing her exposed face.

But that advantage is lost quickly….

All in all a really good scene! 🙂

I guess I should start to check out the new comics more regularly again!

Batgirl rips her own mask! [Masks off! #45]

As I checked some new comics I stumbled upon this one.

Don’t really like the art style, but one panel is really interesting 🙂

I really love this full-face Batgirl mask that Cassandra Cain is wearing.

It’s a modified cowl version where the previous openings have been “closed”.

This version is a perfect disguise and leaves a LOT of opportunities for mask damage 🙂

Spoiler here got kidnapped by her own crazy father and sadly that unmasking isn’t shown…. damn!

But luckily Batgirl arrives so we get some nice action.

I love how she rips open her own mask as she rips out the piece over her mouth/lower face!

She is still masked very well so that the crazy guy can’t see enough of her face.

What is quite weird and interesting is that Batgirl’s mask is suddenly complete again as they are leaving!?!

So, what has happened? Did she pull out a reserve mask? And if yes… why?

Or did she stitch the mask back together in a hurry? 😆

Pretty sure that is more of a continuation error here of the artist, but don’t know for sure.

A good little scene as you don’t see many scenes where a masked heroine is damaging her own mask!

Quite a shocker at first that Spoiler gets killed, but conveniently Batgirl has a Lazarus serum.

Batgirl … unmasked by Poison Ivy! [Masks off #44]

After the last years provided very little when it comes to interesting female unmasking scenes… this one clearly stands out and is pretttttty good!

Glad that someone posted about it on a certain forum 🙂

Well, quite a good unmasking 🙂 , and a nice surprise for Ivy!

Ok, as mostly I do have some issues, let’s start with those:

It’s a little shame that she doesn’t fit back or at least says something before she gets unmasked.

It would have been great if the unmasking would have been shown with more panels.

Also, it always annoys me that the mask seemingly goes off that easy, I mean the cowl shouldn’t go off like that with a quick yank.

The material below the chin should prevent that. Here it looks like that material just ripped very easily as there is such a gap in it.

But ok, enough nitpicking… it’s so rare that you see Batgirl getting unmasked by a villain! And here it is not just any villain, it’s Poison Ivy!

Glad that Poison Ivy immediately recognizes Daphne and is so shocked about the reveal. She is shocked much more than Daphne… which tells a little bit that Daphne is just pretending to be THE Batgirl.

Normally Batgirl should be completely devastated if she gets unmasked like that… after all this could be the end of her crime-fighting career.

And there is actually more… earlier in the comic:

Check out the pages before you continue!

A nice masking as Daphne puts on the cowl, even though we basically only see the end result.

But I do love that Poison Ivy is disguised as a Police Officer by wearing a full face mask!

Damn, I really wanna see a much slower unmasking with such a mask one day.

Would have been great if Batman grabs into that mask and would rip out the lower part over her real mouth for example.

Or her mask gets more accidentally damaged during a tussle and he then would realize that it is a mask and would do everything to fully unmask her.

However, quite a great issue in that a new Batgirl shows up, Poison Ivy gets unmasked and then Poison Ivy unmasks “Batgirl”!

Finally some really good new material 🙂

Catwoman … unmasked by the police… once again! [Masks off #43]

Sounds great, doesn’t it?

The headline is correct, but there is actually a catch to it… but see for yourself:

Catwoman 50 (2022)

(use the arrows to navigate through the pages)

SPOILERS ahead, check out the pictures first before you continue!

By the way, I don’t like her cat ears pointing backward in some panels, but that’s just a detail.

Now to the much more annoying aspect:

Catwoman gets caught and unmasked by the police and they don’t show that?????

ARRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

I mean the cover is promising and the panel with the result of her arrest is great as well as she is tied up and unmasked.

BUT, they don’t show how the police pick her up, tie her up and pull down her mask!

What a wasted opportunity 🙁

So, we have to use our imagination to visualize her unmasking.

And that time jump is really annoying. I mean Batman escaped, but couldn’t take her with him? She gets found without a scratch?

What happened to her?

Really odd.

Well, perhaps they thought they couldn’t top this epic unmasking:

https://maskripper.org/masks-off-16-catwoman-arrested-and-unmasked-by-the-police-hall-of-fame-unmasking

😉

Still, I really like this comic, finally a new one with some material for our fetish.

Sadly her secret identity isn’t so secret for quite a while now. I hate that so many know who Catwoman is….

Looking forward to seeing how she will escape from that prison!

By the way: I will post about one more comic in the next weeks.

What do you think about that scene?

Catwoman unmasked by the police! ….and it’s not who you think ;-) – [Masks off #42]

Sorry, for not posting last weekend, but here is a mid-week post to make up for it.

Thanks to a nice member of the best unmasking forum in the world, I learned about a certain scene in a comic book.

And I have to say… it has become one of my favorite unmaskings in a comic book!

I think I knew most of the really good unmaskings by now, but this one has somehow slipped below my radar.

Let’s check it out:

Watch the pages before you go on!

Well, I love it! The fight with Batman is a nice start, always very sexy material, and the fact that he knocks her out….for just some seconds(?) to deliver her to the cops is quite unusual.

But well, after all, this is a very unusual storyline and many things are very different from the “normal” Batman world.

I love how he orders the cops to unmask her! Pure gold 🙂

A little odd that he leaves that to them, as I would have gladly done the job myself… if I would be Batman.

Of course, it would be nice to have the unmasking in more detail…in more panels…but ok.

However, the result is fantastic! Her mask yanked away to her forehead and the expression on her face…wow! She knows that she is screwed big time!

The cops and Batman now know who she is. They know who the famous cat burglar is and her career is pretty much over!

The big surprise here is that Catwoman is actually NOT Selina Kyle but Vikki Vale, and it makes it even better, especially when she is “interviewed” by Dr. Crane a few pages later on.

After she is injected with a truth serum she admits how she loves “the excitement, the danger, the fun” when she is Catwoman!

They should have added how much she loves to run around in that tight costume and mask and how much it turns her on 😉 . But that would have been too much for the censors 😆

A great fantasy to have a star reporter running around as Catwoman at night! A respected and famous member of society during the day and a wanted criminal at night, certainly a great mixture 🙂

And that makes the unmasking even better!

Of course, I would prefer her not to be handcuffed and to say something like “NO!” or “Not my mask!” or “Don’t you dare!”… but these are only small issues.

All in all, I am very happy to now know this “unmasking gem”.

Arachna 2 [Indiegogo campaign]

Hey folks, last year I presented the very successful crowdfunding campaign for the first Arachna comic.

Now, it’s time to present the new IndieGoGo campaign!

Here are some preview pages for the 2nd comic:

And here is the campaign trailer for Arachna 2:

I ordered the first one last year and was very happy about it as it is very stylish and sexy.

And with some scenes for unmasking fans as well 😉

Here is the link to the IndieGoGo campaign:

Arachna 2 IndieGoGo campaign

This time you can get various print editions and also now digital versions as well!

Plus there are several stretch goals for this campaign, with the ultimate stretch goal with an Arachna short movie with up to 20 minutes!

That would be really great as I love the short videos snippets with Arachna, and a short movie with some nice peril and unmasking content would be highly welcome by me 😉

Arachna: The Adventure begins! – A crowdfundung campaign on Indiegogo [Comic]

Today I wanna promote a crowdfunding campaign that started this week!

So, what is it about? Well, basically it’s about a new comic that features Arachna, a masked heroine:

“A superheroine with a split personality brings the fun, adventure, and sexy back to comics”

Check out the page on Indiegogo:

“Arachna: The Adventure begins!” on Indiegogo

I highly recommend watching the video first!

One page as an example of what you can expect:

(click to enlarge it to full size)

I already backed the campaign to get my copy of the comic.

The concept of the comic is just great in my opinion. The whole split personality sounds like a lot of fun.

And of course, she is very sexy in that costume! Her mask hides her identity well enough and as you can already see on the pictures on Indiegogo, she will get unmasked at one point 😉

Plus, as you also can see on the images…..we also have a masked villainess as a bonus!

Also, from what I have seen and read of the comic, this comic isn’t a “regular” mainstream comic.

The focus is on showing a very sexy adventure of an unusual heroine who seems to get into peril quite a lot ;-).

So, I am really looking forward to this one!

Some of the cover versions that you can get by backing this campaign (more on the Indiegogo page):

(click to enlarge it to full size)

As I am writing this post, the first goal of 5.000$ is practically already reached. I would say it’s only a matter of hours to get there.

But this is only the beginning! There are a lot of interesting stretch goals up to 50.000. (more info on the Indiegogo site).

If the campaign hits that final goal, all backers will receive a 15-20 minute action film with Arachna! And that would be really awesome! 🙂

On his Youtube channel, you can already see some short snippets of Arachna and her stunning costume!

An example of these promo videos:

The campaign will run for another 30 days, so I am very thrilled to see how it will develop!

I hope that Arachna gets a lot of supporters as this comic is something very special.

Batwoman: Beyond ….Comics special on a SPECIAL day! [Masks off #41]

[1st post for today]

To celebrate this SPECIAL day….the day where the Batwoman TV shows starts into its second season (8PM at the CW)…I have a “Batwoman Beyond comics special” for you!

It’s the “Batwoman BEYOND” version from the “Batman Beyond” run.

In that run a version of Batwoman appeared in issues 37 to 42.

For some reason I forgot to post about these comics back then, time to finally do that now!

In this gallery you find the highlights from my perspective with some peril moments and all the (un)masking action!

These pages are from issues 38 to 42. You will find more of course in the comics as I couldn’t put them all in a gallery 😉

You should check out all these comics!

[Read the pages before you go on!]

I really like that she actually had a secret identity in these comics for a while as not even the reader knew who was under that mask.

The advantage of such a full face mask is ….obviously….that the whole face is covered, so it provides a perfect disguise.

I do love such a mystery! It also provides some opportunities to show scenes where the mask gets damaged or ripped.

Sadly they don’t much use of that here. I mean if someone delivers hard punches to her face or threws her around the mask should get damaged at some point. But well, I don’t know what high-tech material they use in these Batman Beyond masks. So, her costume does only really damaged once through that explosion.

My favorite is the scene where a hand of the villain gets really close to her face as she is lying on the ground. But sadly, it seems like he didn’t want to unmask her as he immediately starts to choke her instead of yanking her mask off. That moron 😉

The self unmaskings are well done even I would have prefered that someone else had unmasked her at one point or at least try to do that.

But in the end these comics with this Batwoman Beyond version are my favorites from the last 5 years!

Masks Off #40! – One of the weirdest unmaskings in comic history! [Batwoman]

Today, this is post 1 of 2 for today!

First I wanna present one of the weirdest unmaskings in comic history!

In this old comic Kathy Keene is married to Bruce Wayne and wants to assist him as a crime fighter.

She puts on a Batman costume she fixed so that it would fit her and becomes the first Batwoman.

But soon there is trouble….

(click to enlarge the image to full size)

Well, that is weird for quite some reasons!

Seemingly her cowl isn’t attached to her cape! Why is that? And it just flies away? It doesn’t tear or rip?

This way it looks like her cowl was some kind of hat without a chin strap or a connection to the cape.

And you clearly see the age of this comic, she is a rather helpless woman, stumbles on the scene, calls Batman “darling”, gets unmasked and thereby ruins his carreer as well…just in a matter of seconds.

The current Batwoman (from the comics and the TV show) was a highly modified version of this one and debuted in 2006.

I used to know from which comic issue this was taken….

Can someone who knows help out here? I would add that info to the post.

And now I wanna present a newer and modified version that focuses on the UNMASKING from a talented artist made on DeviantArt:

In this one the whole cape flies away, what makes at least a lot more sense!

However “unmasked by a wind machine” is still a very ODD unmasking type 😉

You should check out more of his work, as he focuses on masked heroines and their unmaskings:

Masks off! #39 – Catwoman with severe “Mask damage” …and more missed opportunities

[2nd post for today]

Time for another issue of “Masks off!”  !

This time it’s about Catwoman.

In the issue from this week, Catwoman ends up in a room with two grenades! (early in the comic)

She survives, but the explosion badly rips her mask, and so she runs around with it for the rest of the issue 😉

I wanna show 3 scenes with 8 pages. There are more, of course, but I won’t show the complete comic here.

Catwoman_15

(use the arrow to navigate and click on the image to enlarge it)

You may know by now that I love damaged masks, so the comic starts really good!

But again, it’s a shame that no one uses this opportunity for an easy unmasking.

In the 2nd scene, where she fights against the woman, that woman has her hand on her mask once, and then she even grabs the hair that is exposed by the mask damage.

But….again, the villain doesn’t unmask the heroine (I would count Catwoman into that category, 51% heroine/ 49% villainess)!

Really frustrating…. well, perhaps next time.

This is the comic with more interesting pages:

Masks off! #38 – Spider-woman gets unmasked…and more!

It’s been nearly one year since the last “Masks off!” post…time to change that!

I have known the “highlight picture” of this comic for years, but I never thought about posting it. I guess I just forgotto post it.

Lucky for us, a friendly guy reminded me of this scene…thanks a lot!

And this scene has a lot to offer! A sexy Spider-woman, some peril scene, and even an unmasking……an unmasking of a special kind!

A little background info: Peter was ordered by his newspaper to make pictures of Spider-man and Spider-woman (who seems to be a criminial), masked and if possible, even UNMASKED!

Check it out:

(click on the arrows to browse through the pages, and click on them to enlarge the image)

Well, this unmasking is a rare one!

Unmasked by accident/bad luck. It wasn’t his intention to unmask her. But as her mask ……falls off/slips out of place…. during the fight, he took the chance to take pictures of her unmasked face 🙂

I love the action and peril scenes with Spider-woman. We don’t actually see the unmasking, “only” the result…but nevertheless it is a verrrry interesting scene.

I like the ending as he destroys the pictures of her unmasked face as he realises she isn’t an enemy and actually saved his life.

Which are your favorite Batwoman scenes from the comics?

Batgirl …and the many missed opportunities …to unmask her (…in just 2 comics!)

Now,  a pretty long post follows…hope you like it! 😉

I still could go on a rampage for that evil/crazy decision to discard her cowl in the ongoing comic series…and replace it with that tiny eye mask that doesn’t hide anything.

As if the comic series was run by …Alicia “I don’t want that cowl” Silverstone…

Ok, but I accepted that batshit crazy decision and still hope they will change it back to the Batgirl cowl.

But what is at least similar annoying is the fact, that 99,99% of the villains don’t care about unmasking her, don’t care for finding out who she really is.

So, we didn’t get unmaskings… or even unmasking-attempts in the last years.

And you don’t need an unmasking fetish to wanna find out how she looks like beneath that mask.

Let’s check scenes from just two of the latest comics (and pretend that her mask hides her identity 😉 ):

Scene 1:

Batgirl unmasks the criminal…because it is the logical thing to do.

He tricks her, blinds her with pepper spray (?). For seconds she is helpless, he could easily unmask her…but he decides to run.

Ok, they don’t have time and are on the run, but a quick unmasking would take only seconds.

———————————————-

Scene 2:

His “hand” reaches her face and he throws her around…

Ok, even the fact that he most likely didn’t want to unmask her….shouldn’t her barely secured eye mask come off by accident with a “grab and throw” like that?

But it seems that her mask is glued with magic superglue to her face…

———————————————-

Scene 3 and 4:

These pages have two scenes.

  • He grabs her face and throws her against the wall.

Again her mask doesn’t come off by that, not by the grab to her face…not by the throw. Ok

  • Than she is knocked out….he could do everything…unmask her….or even finish her off, but he walks away (as nearly all villains seems to do).

Reminded me a lot of the Black Scorpion TV series. She nearly gets knocked out every second episode….but what do most of these villains do? They just walk away. Nearly every time! ARGGGG!

————————————

Scene 5:

In the same issue(!) he wins a second time against Batgirl. But he is happy with his quick victory and leaves without using that advantage.

And again, her tiny mask is held by that superglue…no matter what he throws at her…no matter how she gets thrown around.

5 scenes from just 2 comic books!

So many things that really frustrates me about it…

Ok, I will still continue to follow Batgirl in the comics as well.

The hope she might get her cowl back (and not the “burnside” version) and that some villain might at least TRY to unmask her.

I mean, if you are a villain, and Batgirl always tries to stop you….. You basically can do two things:

1) Kill her (not good)

2) Unmask her (and ….(a) then controlling her by blackmailing her …or (b)…. release pictures/a video of her unmasked face, which would finish her)

But all they do is to run off….. 🙁

Ok, enough of me, what do YOU think about it?

Masks off! #37 – Batwoman unmasked by Batarang!

[Post 1 of 2 for today]

Well, today is “Batwoman-day” on Maskripper to celebrate the ….GREAT news from the last weeks.

For starters a scene that I didn’t post back then (don’t know why…guess I forgot) but it fits really good to this occasion.

And here is the scene:

(click on the arrows to get to the other pages)

Well, a very quick unmasking…but I really like that image where her mask drops. Great facial expression.

I often wonder how Batwoman’s mask is attached?

Is is just on the head by the connection with her wig?

Is there some sort of fixation on her suit (on the material that covers her neck)?

Hard to tell how “realistic” this unmasking is…but is is well drawn.

What do you think?
