And now something to read as well…the Official Storyline:
BATWOMAN — Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy). Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate –– the daughter he still has –– at a distance. But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes –– a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Nicole Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC, BATWOMAN is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”), Caroline Dries (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Smallville”), Geoff Johns (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Titans”) and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”). David Nutter (“Game of Thrones,” “The Flash,” “Arrow”) and Marcos Siega (“The Vampire Diaries,” “You”) executive produced the pilot.

My opinion on the trailer:
I was rather surprised we get a trailer that long at this time! 🙂
And that is “only” material from the pilot episode, which was the only one that was filmed so far.
I liked the rather dark tone of it, both in optics AND atmosphere. Very fitting, like Batman…Batwoman is a creature of the night with a rather troubled past.
We get introduced to the (so far) important characters, get a feeling for the story of the pilot and some good action scenes as well.
There is a lot of ….fuzz…over Kate’s two…well….”feminisitc(?)” lines, but I think they just wanna make a statement in the trailer. I don’t think she will drop such lines on a regular base in the Show later this year. I don’t have a problem with it, as long as it doesn’t get …too much.
And seeing this trailer…..it is something really….HUGE for me. As you may know by now, I really have a thing for masked women. 😉
She wears a great masks that really hides her identity, there are so MANY examples in other shows were the women have rather small masks that doesn’t hide enough to provide a good “secret identity cover” for the woman underneath the mask.
And to have a show with such a masked heroine in the LEAD role…..it is a dream coming true.

My biggest questions about the show so far:
1) When will the show start exactly? So that I can configure the timer on the right side 😉
2) Which characters will we get to see in that season? Villains/Villainesses? What other heroes/heroines? Gotham has A LOT to offer 🙂
3) Is Alice the main villainess?
4) Who will figure out who is under Batwoman’s mask? And When?
In the trailer…”only” Luke Fox seems to be “in the know”, as he is responsible for her suit and gadgets. In the comics her father knows it from the start (as he train her), but it’s not sure the TV show will do it like the comics.
5) How many unmaskings will be shown? And what types of unmaskings? (Self, forced, unconscious, bound, fight …-unmaskings?)
6) Her masks (in the trailer we saw 2 versions): From what material are they made of? What are the exact differences between the both types we saw so far?
7) What is the main storyline? (after the pilot)
8) How much screentime will Batwoman actually get in the episodes?
