What could have been: The early Batman movies …and Catwoman spin off movie

Batman Returns is my favorite Batman movie… and you know why 😉

The two Tim Burton Batman movies are really very special to me and I love “Batman & Robin” for one reason as well (starts with “Bat” and ends with “girl”).

I stumbled upon some videos about certain aspects of these early movies and what could have been… if some other decisions would have been made back in the day.

Here is the first one (not my video or upload):

Fascinating!

The fact that McDonalds promoted “Batman Returns” with toys in Happy Meals is just hilarious.

The movie is awesome… but definitely not made for kids.

Seemingly WarnerBrothers and McDonalds were surprised by that?!? 😆

Sadly the movie didn’t make as much money as they hoped and the plan with a Catwoman Spin-off movie was never greenlighted.

But we got the Halle Barry Catwoman flick instead… oh my god! 🙁

That is the real tragedy here.

Imagine a movie with Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman as the main character! I might sell my soul for that…

But the quest for toy sales for those damn kids ruined that… and the two toy commercial movies with Schumacher followed.

Even I always will defend “Batman & Robin” as some minutes of Batgirl in that costume just made it so remarkable for me.

And the fact that “Batman Forever” made more money than “Batman Returns”…. is just insane when you compare the quality of the movies.

All the damn kids were allowed to watch “Batman Forever”… the money that “Batman Returns” missed to get.

So, what might have happened if Joel Schumacher had made a third Batman movie?

Verrrry interesting!

A darker movie with that storyline… yeah, would have been interesting to watch for sure, especially with Catwoman appearing again, even if it seemingly would have been just a hallucination.

Scarecrow and Harley as the villains, and hating Bruce Wayne and one hating Batman… yeah, sounds like a good idea!

But yeah, it would have been quite difficult and expensive… to have made that one.

An alternative script for Batman Returns:

Hmh, yeah… these Catwoman scenes could have been awesome as well!

There are basically two Catwoman aspects that I don’t like in “Batman Returns”:

– The fact that she is a secretary who then goes on to have her revenge on her boss (instead of being a master-class thief)

– And that Selina and Bruce learn each other secret identities by re-phrasing that one dialogue that had as Catwoman and Batman.

These two aspects could have been improved for sure with a different script.

But it’s really hard to tell if that script would have made a(n even) better movie.

We will never know…

Batwoman Special – Preview for the last two episodes of the season

Only two more episodes of Batwoman, and there is a trailer for the next episode on sunday available and also synopsises and promo pictures for both episodes!

And especially the trailer and the promo pictures offer a lot of highly interesting questions!

I only present official promo material, but I present my ideas about what might happen….

…So….. POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!

Let’s start with episode 19 that will air on Sunday 10th:

Trailer:

The synopsis:

CRACKING THE CODE – When members of Gotham’s intelligentsia begin disappearing, Commander Kane (Dougray Scott), Sophie (Meagan Tandy) and the Crows go searching for the newest homicidal threat to the city. In the meantime, Kate (Ruby Rose) is consumed with someone’s betrayal and starts questioning the loyalty of everyone around her just when she needs them most. So when Luke (Camrus Johnson) and Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) go missing, Batwoman must rely on Mary (Nicole Kang) and a former foe to deploy her rescue mission. Meanwhile, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) enlists Tommy Elliot (guest star Gabriel Mann) to help acquire an elusive item that her sister also seeks. Greg Beeman directed the episode written by Jerry Shandy and Kelly Larson (#119). Original airdate 5/10/2020.

Promo pictures:

————————–

Episode 20 will air on Sunday 17th:

There is no trailer for the final episode yet, as they are released when one episode was aired.

But the synsopis and the promo pictures are VERY interesting!

The synopsis:

SEASON FINALE – When one of Gotham’s former heroes returns to his old stomping grounds to settle a score, both Batwoman (Ruby Rose) and Commander Kane (Dougray Scott) find themselves on the defensive. Meanwhile, Alice (Rachel Skarsten) has uncovered what could finally take down Batwoman, but she is losing hold on her henchman Mouse (guest star Sam Littlefield) and Hush (guest star Gabriel Mann), sending her spiraling into her most wicked self. Luke (Camrus Johnson) immediately focuses on finding a way to protect Batwoman from Alice, and Mary (Nicole Kang) has a chance to be the sister Kate has needed all along. New information surfaces, forcing Julia (guest star Christina Wolfe) to warn Sophie (Meagan Tandy) about the person pulling the strings. And in a final standoff, when Commander Kane refuses to retreat from his war on Batwoman, Kate may find herself more than heartbroken by her father’s choices. Amanda Tapping directed the episode written by Holly Henderson and Don Whitehead (#120). Original airdate 5/17/2020.

Promo pictures:

http://batwomantv.com/batwoman-season-finale-photos-o-mouse/

>>> So, if you combine all these infos together, a LOT of questions can be asked! <<<

– What are the goals of Hush, Alice and Mouse? Seems that the are different. And I guess that Hush and Mouse do wanna hunt down Batwoman! And Alice doesn’t want that, even Kate locked her up in Arkham, I’m sure she doesn’t want Kate to be killed. Also Alice and Mouse know who Batwoman is! Will they tell Hush? Or will he find out about Kate Kane’s night job on his own? What will happen with Mouse? The last episode is called “O, Mouse!” and I somehow have a strong feeling that Mouse won’t survive, as Alice might have to choose between Mouse and her sister. I’m sure that Mouse will be a thread to Batwoman and that she will side with her sister in the end.

– What happens between Batwoman and Jacob? It clearly seems that they collide and Jacob now really does want Batwoman to be taken down! What will happen? Will he find out who Batwoman is under that mask? I wouldn’t be totally surprised if he will even die in the season finale as it is mentioned how heartbroken Kate is! But I would rather say that he will survive….And I would love if Jacob would at least try to unmask Batwoman! I don’t want Kate to tell him her secret…..that would be really the worst solution.

– What kind of weapon can be found in that journal? Seemingly it is a BIG danger to Batwoman. Why does Alice want it? Why is Julia and her mysterious contact after it?

– Who is Julia working for? Is it Safiyah? That might be the safest bet….

– The promo pictures indicate that both Julia and Luke gets kidnapped! They may want Luke for decoding the journal….but what do they want with Julia?

– Who is that former hero of Gotham that the synopsis for episode 20 is mentioning? Of course my dream scenario would be Batgirl….but that chance is slim….very slim. But what about her father? I think the chances are not too bad that Jim Gordon will show up! Or will it be one of the other vigilantes from the Bat-family? I hope the trailer for the episode will show us something!

– Why is Parker in the Batcave? I guess she will try to decode that journal too….but therefore team Batwoman would need to get it first.

– What will happen between Julia, Sophie and Kate? Kate wasn’t happy about seeing them together in the trailer….

– Also what about Reagan? Will Kate forgive her? Will Magpie show up again?

Oh man, I expect a lot of twists and tragedy from these last two episodes of the season!

And hopefully a BIG, nail-biting cliffhanger!

Can’t wait!

(many more promo pictures can be found with the links above)

Creative competition: Combine Batgirl’s suit + Batwoman’s cowl….and get a free month/free monthS for the VIP club!

As some of you may know by now…the Batgirl suit from the movie “Batman and Robin” (and from the “Birds of Prey” TV show) is my all-time favorite female costume of all time.

Now the new Batwoman cowl from the TV show is my new all-time favorite cowl/mask!

So I wonder how it would look …if these two elements would be combined?

(only EXAMPLES – click to enlarge)

So, your task would be to move the masked head of Ruby Rose onto the costumed body (both versions) of Alicia Silverstone (or Dina Meyer) in a way it looks somehow natural.

You can use whatever pictures you can find, as long it has the right costume/mask and the correct actresses.

The competition will run until I declare the ending of it (but at least several days). Of course you can send more than one picture….but quality goes over quantitiy.

If I LIKE your result, you will get one free month for the VIP club. If I LOVE your result you will get 2 months for the VIP club.

I don’t expect perfection, it just has to be better than the horrible results I would produce if I would try.

Looking forward to the results!

Batwoman news, October 6th […the last hours until the pilot is released!]

The DAY has come!

…but for starters…a new video about Alice:

Well, looks like she lands a good hit on Batwoman 😉

I have the strong feeling that Alice will be a great villainess!

And check out the upcoming issue of the SFX magazine (UK):

I will get it as soon it is available 😉

The day has come….. October 6th. The day I was waiting for since December last year.

Since I saw the Elseworlds crossover. I can only vaguely express how much anticipation I have build up until today.

But finally we are only hours away from the first episode of BATWOMAN.

I envy all who can watch the episode today on the CW, due to fact that I don’t live in the USA, I can’t do that.

But ok, I waited nearly 300 days…another 18 hours won’t be a big problem 😉

Let’s take a look at the other “hero” shows on the CW:

Arrow has 8 seasons (the final season will start on October 15)

The Flash will launch season 6 (October 8)

Supergirl will launch season 5 (today, right after Batwoman)

Legends of Tomorrow will launch season 4 (in January)

And Black Lightning will launch season 3 (October 7)

And Batwoman? I really HOPE that this show will be a success!

That it will be successful enough …to get several seasons like the other shows.

So far the CW didn’t cancel a single show from the Arrowverse as Arrow will “just” be ending because Stephen Amell would like to play other parts.

So far the only TV shows with a masked heroine in the leading role (Black Scorpion and Queen of Swords) had only 1 season.

BATWOMAN has to top that!

I know it’s getting tougher to get solid ratings as more and more shows fight for viewers. And streaming has changed the whole business.

BUT if BATWOMAN gets at least 3 or 4 seasons… I would be VERY happy. 🙂

If you live in the US…you know what you have to do! Tune in and watch BATWOMAN!

(and if you don’t…. find a way to watch it!)

“Nightfox: Gravestone” is now available at Ultraheroix.com

From time to time I check the new releases from video producers of our common “special interest”.  And not often I put up a showcase like this one….because, as some of you know, what I think about a big part of these videos. Many have very cheap costumes and no masks or little eye masks from the one dollar shop.

I was thrilled as I saw the trailer and some pictures from this one! Why? I saw another video with “Nightfox” two years ago (more about that one later) and I enjoyed that one very much. I really like her costume. Boots, a sexy pantyhose, that body (in both meanings!)…..and especially the cowl/mask. That is a real mask! It really hides her identity (which is very important to me), is has a chin strap (so it can’t just fall off) and it is made out of rubber. Such masks are pretty rare to find in videos. And of course it is a nice bonus that it looks like Batgirl’s cowl!

And as I watched the trailer, I found another great reason to watch this video. The villainess wants to see who is hiding underneath that mask! 🙂

Some promo-pictures:

Story:

Nightfox steps into a trap of the villainous duo, “Gravestone”.  Unfortunately, the only thing they hate more than Nightfox is each other. When they worked together, the villains give the superheroine more than she can handle and easily defeats her and she becomes their prisoner.  The only question is, will they finish her off before they kill each other?

And here is the trailer:

Well that preview-frame from the trailer is showing a VERY interesting moment 🙂

The villainess is yanking at her mask!

I have watched the whole video by now and I can say: I like it! As I mentioned I really like the costume and mask, but other aspects are well done as well.

The fight scenes are solid as well as the acting. Score and editing are good. And the story isn’t bad either! Of course there is always room for improvement, but if you compare this video with the vast majority of the genre….it is definitely much better than the average fetish video. And that is the reason for this showcase.

Batwoman – and her different MASKS on the CW TV show

I am sure many of you noticed that Batwoman (Ruby Rose) has worn two different masks so far. First, we saw her in the Crossover with her “regular” mask and wig. And now, in the trailer from last week, she wore a different mask without a wig (the pilot plays years BEFORE the Crossover).

Where are the differences? Well, as I have a Dr. in ….maskoligy…..I will try to show them to you 😉

For starters, let’s me present her “regular” mask that she will wear from the ending of episode 1 (most likely):

(cropped pictures to show the mask/cowl)

There are at least 3 differences from her regular mask (pictures 1-6) to the mask she wears for most parts of the trailer (pictures 7-12). I believe that it is just a size-modified Batman cowl that Luke Fox made to fit Batwoman’s head.

The differences:

1) most obvious – Her regular mask includes a flashing red wig. Therefore I think her, the material on top of her head was removed, the cowl seems open, her wig is right on her real hair.

I don’t think her wig is “glued” to the top of her mask. Even it would make some things easier (for the actress).

2) The whole shape is different!

The modified Batman mask is much rounder as her regular one. It looks bigger to me (volume/capacity).

You can see the shape of her ear on the regular one (picture 2) and it fits better to her head in my opinion.

3) The eye section!

If you compare the mask around her eyes…you can see that the material of the modified Batman mask is flat. On her regular mask, it is shaped much different. It looks menacing (like it should be) and should provide much better protection for her if someone would score a hit in that area. With that shape, it should hurt to hit her there 😉

Things I would like to know about these masks:

1) From what material(s) are they made off?

I think that it is rather some “hardened kind of plastic” like Christian Bale’s Batman cowl. Personally I would love if it would be made out of thick rubber, that could be stretched a bit (for unmasking purposes of course 😉 )….but I don’t think it is.

2) Is the back section of her regular mask “closed” as well?

You can see that her Batman-mask is “closed” (pictures 7 and 11) at the back of her head.

Due to the wig, we couldn’t see the back of the cowl on her regular mask. Is it closed as well? In the comics she doesn’t wear a cowl, it “just” covers her face and some parts of the sides of her head. If it is not closed around her head…how it is fixed to stay on it?

3) Does she wear a “cowl of cloth” underneath her mask?

If you check picture 11, you can spot some cloth material that exits her mask on her cheek. And on pictures 2 and 7 you can see that this cloth material covers her neck from the top of her suit upwards. How far does that cloth material “goes” upwards?

……to be continued…..

What do you think about these masks?

Do you see other differences that aren’t on my list?

Batwoman TRAILER, Sneak Peak and MUCH more!

I guess that will be the longest post I ever made here on Maskripper, but…

…well, these are really exciting days….a lot of BIG news on the Batwoman TV show!

When will the show start?

1) It will run on Sundays at 8 PM on the CW, right before Supergirl (9 PM)

2) It will start sometime in Fall, the exact date will be announced in the future

The Trailer is here:

A “Sneak Peak” is there too:

And a general, short trailer for all the Arrowverse shows…with some seconds of Batwoman as well:

And now something to read as well…the Official Storyline:

BATWOMAN — Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy). Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane (Elizabeth Anweis), who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate –– the daughter he still has –– at a distance. But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes –– a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary (Nicole Kang), and the crafty Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice (Rachel Skarsten), who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope. Based on the characters from DC, BATWOMAN is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”), Caroline Dries (“The Vampire Diaries,” “Smallville”), Geoff Johns (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Titans”) and Sarah Schechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl”). David Nutter (“Game of Thrones,” “The Flash,” “Arrow”) and Marcos Siega (“The Vampire Diaries,” “You”) executive produced the pilot.

My opinion on the trailer:

I was rather surprised we get a trailer that long at this time! 🙂

And that is “only” material from the pilot episode, which was the only one that was filmed so far.

I liked the rather dark tone of it, both in optics AND atmosphere. Very fitting, like Batman…Batwoman is a creature of the night with a rather troubled past.

We get introduced to the (so far) important characters, get a feeling for the story of the pilot and some good action scenes as well.

There is a lot of ….fuzz…over Kate’s two…well….”feminisitc(?)” lines, but I think they just wanna make a statement in the trailer. I don’t think she will drop such lines on a regular base in the Show later this year. I don’t have a problem with it, as long as it doesn’t get …too much.

And seeing this trailer…..it is something really….HUGE for me. As you may know by now, I really have a thing for masked women. 😉

She wears a great masks that really hides her identity, there are so MANY examples in other shows were the women have rather small masks that doesn’t hide enough to provide a good “secret identity cover” for the woman underneath the mask.

And to have a show with such a masked heroine in the LEAD role…..it is a dream coming true.

My biggest questions about the show so far:

1) When will the show start exactly? So that I can configure the timer on the right side 😉

2) Which characters will we get to see in that season? Villains/Villainesses? What other heroes/heroines? Gotham has A LOT to offer 🙂

3) Is Alice the main villainess?

4) Who will figure out who is under Batwoman’s mask? And When?

In the trailer…”only” Luke Fox seems to be “in the know”, as he is responsible for her suit and gadgets. In the comics her father knows it from the start (as he train her), but it’s not sure the TV show will do it like the comics.

5) How many unmaskings will be shown? And what types of unmaskings? (Self, forced, unconscious, bound, fight …-unmaskings?)

6) Her masks (in the trailer we saw 2 versions): From what material are they made of? What are the exact differences between the both types we saw so far?

7) What is the main storyline? (after the pilot)

8) How much screentime will Batwoman actually get in the episodes?

Which are your favorite Batwoman scenes from the comics?

My day at the german comic con Dortmund 2019 (spring edition)

This year they had an additional comic con in Dortmund…the spring edition! (The “regular” is always in early december).

After I visited the last 2 that were held in 2017 and 2018, this was my 3rd comic con.

Here you can find my reports on them:

comic con Dortmund 2017 (especially recommended! – Batgirls + Catwoman)

comic con Dortmund 2018

There are several reasons I started to go on these Con’s.

– I wanna see some stars from the movies and TV.

– I like to see all the cosplayers, the artists and the merchandise stalls.

– And I wanna see some masked women like Batgirls, Catwomen, Batwomen, Spider-girls and so on.

….well….the first two worked very good. As I love the Gotham TV show it was a great joy to see so many of the cast in one place. And the other stars were interesting as well!

There were a lot of great cosplays and I found some good stuff at the merchandise stalls as well.

But masked women? Well, yes…but not ONE of real interest to me. There were some “masked” Star wars girls (well, only masked by a lot of face paint). There were a Catwoman, a Batgirl and a Huntress…but all with pretty cheap costumes. There was a Speedy (from Arrow, with an eye mask).

And quite some Spider-girls and Gwens…..but ALL without a mask! I guess they all thought….”they can’t see my  pretty face when I’m wearing a mask”. Well, that’s true, but in my opinion running around with the mask would be the right thing to do as it is the “normal” costume (for Spider-Girl/Gwen). I never saw a Batman without a cowl on all these comic cons.

But I know this from Instagram, there a quite a lot of Spider-girl/gwen cosplayers who present most …or all pictures without the mask.

Sometimes I think that is an ego-think…

And somehow I didn’t want to ask them to put on their masks, so I could make a picture 😉

Ok, time for a video for you folks:

It wasn’t as crowded as on the last 2 cons in december.

Perhaps many folks are happy with one con a year (and only 4 months since the last one). But there will be 2 again next year.

Let’s see if enough folks will come to keep that up.

Some pictures I made:

All in all it was a fun day to remember, even I did not see really good cosplays with masked women. Perhaps next december.

Or I need to find a con were it is all about DC comics…and not to far away. One day I would like to attend the big comic con in San Diego.

Feel welcome to leave your comments below!

Did you ever visit such a con? Did you like it?

Batgirl …and the many missed opportunities …to unmask her (…in just 2 comics!)

Now,  a pretty long post follows…hope you like it! 😉

I still could go on a rampage for that evil/crazy decision to discard her cowl in the ongoing comic series…and replace it with that tiny eye mask that doesn’t hide anything.

As if the comic series was run by …Alicia “I don’t want that cowl” Silverstone…

Ok, but I accepted that batshit crazy decision and still hope they will change it back to the Batgirl cowl.

But what is at least similar annoying is the fact, that 99,99% of the villains don’t care about unmasking her, don’t care for finding out who she really is.

So, we didn’t get unmaskings… or even unmasking-attempts in the last years.

And you don’t need an unmasking fetish to wanna find out how she looks like beneath that mask.

Let’s check scenes from just two of the latest comics (and pretend that her mask hides her identity 😉 ):

Scene 1:

Batgirl unmasks the criminal…because it is the logical thing to do.

He tricks her, blinds her with pepper spray (?). For seconds she is helpless, he could easily unmask her…but he decides to run.

Ok, they don’t have time and are on the run, but a quick unmasking would take only seconds.

———————————————-

Scene 2:

His “hand” reaches her face and he throws her around…

Ok, even the fact that he most likely didn’t want to unmask her….shouldn’t her barely secured eye mask come off by accident with a “grab and throw” like that?

But it seems that her mask is glued with magic superglue to her face…

———————————————-

Scene 3 and 4:

These pages have two scenes.

  • He grabs her face and throws her against the wall.

Again her mask doesn’t come off by that, not by the grab to her face…not by the throw. Ok

  • Than she is knocked out….he could do everything…unmask her….or even finish her off, but he walks away (as nearly all villains seems to do).

Reminded me a lot of the Black Scorpion TV series. She nearly gets knocked out every second episode….but what do most of these villains do? They just walk away. Nearly every time! ARGGGG!

————————————

Scene 5:

In the same issue(!) he wins a second time against Batgirl. But he is happy with his quick victory and leaves without using that advantage.

And again, her tiny mask is held by that superglue…no matter what he throws at her…no matter how she gets thrown around.

5 scenes from just 2 comic books!

So many things that really frustrates me about it…

Ok, I will still continue to follow Batgirl in the comics as well.

The hope she might get her cowl back (and not the “burnside” version) and that some villain might at least TRY to unmask her.

I mean, if you are a villain, and Batgirl always tries to stop you….. You basically can do two things:

1) Kill her (not good)

2) Unmask her (and ….(a) then controlling her by blackmailing her …or (b)…. release pictures/a video of her unmasked face, which would finish her)

But all they do is to run off….. 🙁

Ok, enough of me, what do YOU think about it?

Batwoman in the Arrowverse – #6

Time for an update on the Elseworlds crossover!

We got this promo picture:

Pretty cool poster! My two favorites are on the right half 😉

—–

I am looking forward to find out how much screen time Batwoman and Kate Kane actually get.

The whole crossover with the 3 parts is around 2 hours long. We know that the heroes will go to Gotham City in the second episode where they meet “both”.

Hard to tell how much Kate and Batwoman will be involved in the third episode. But of course I hope Batwoman will still help them in that last chapter!

And….we got a real trailer that shows about one minute of material…that is a step forward 😉

With the first seconds of Kate Kane on-screen!

Right now my main question is how Kate Kane and Batwoman are behave towards all those heroes that arrive in Gotham.

Why do they travel to Gotham? How is Kate and Batwoman involved in all of this?? Will they figure out that Kate IS Batwoman???

But these questions will be answered pretty soon!

Only 4 days left (for the ones in the US / 5 days for me)!

German Comic Con Dortmund 2018

Some of you may remember my little post about the german Comic con in Dortmund last year.

Well, this year I went to it too…..and I wanna write something about it and have prepared a little video.

This one was actually my second Comic con. And compared with last year…..hmh, I would say I was/am a little disappointed.

Ok, doing something for the first time is always a little more exciting I guess, but the main reason for my disappointment is clearly the lack of …..(well-) masked women.

Because to be honest, that is my main motivation as it wasn’t very cheap to travel to Dortmund and buy a ticket for the con.

What was really good this year were the Hollywood guests (check the video) and that it wasn’t too crowded with now 3 instead of last years 2 halls for the Comic Con.

And of course…seeing so many folks dressed up in often great costumes is always very interesting and/or sexy (in case of some really sexy dressed women).

But back to my main motivation:

There was NOT ONE masked woman with a really good costume (from what I saw).

There were two Spider-Gwens/Girls with good costumes, but without masks (DAMN! The mask is an/the essential part!). There were two Catwomen with really cheap costumes, not sexy at all.

And I didn’t find a single Batgirl, Batwoman, Spoiler or Canary! In general there were way too less DC characters around. And with the upcoming Batwoman appearance on the Crossover in a few days I thought there would be one or two at least…. Weird. Well, I only visited the Comic Con on sunday and not on saturday and sunday. Perhaps there were more masked women on saturday…don’t know.

So many costumes from Star Wars, Games of Thrones, Walking Dead, japanese Mangas, Horror movies. I guess I need to visit some sort of DC/Marvel-only Comic con, but I guess that doesn’t exist. 😆

Ok, I do know that a Batgirl/Catwoman costume that I find really attractive is pretty expensive. And that it is much easier to dress up like Harley Quinn for example. And ok, making a really good cosplay of Batgirl or Catwoman for example is tougher as most others. But there wasn’t a single rubber cowl on all these women…

Perhaps I will check out the “Heroes and Villains” fanfest in London or when it comes to Germany one day.

Next year the german comic con will be two times  in Dortmund. Hmh, I have to think about it. But I guess I will attend at least one of them.

Not so many other chances to find a Batgirl or Catwoman in real life 😆

And here is my little video:

How to start some fetishes in the childhood (…without realising it)

This post is for my Frogwoman blog and my Maskripper blog, it really fits well into both in my opinion.

For today I wanna post a short article about a short comic scene that always excited me since I saw it as a child. Back then, of course, I didn’t understand why I liked that scene so much, but later I got it. It seems like a normal, harmless comic scene in a harmless comic for children. But it fuels several fetishes, and I wanna show that scene to you, so you can understand.

Story:

A witch (Gundel Gaukeley) wants to steal the lucky “coin” from Dagobert Duck. She dresses like a woman from an insurance company that wants to insure that coin for free. She uses a blonde wig to disguise her identity (a little weird, that that is enough to fool her arch enemy…but ok). So Dagobert shows the room where the coin is placed.

That room is filled with gas, so they need to use gas masks to enter it. And she uses this opportunity…..

(click on the image to enlarge it to full size)

….to rip his gas mask off (!), he collapses and can’t stop her from stealing the priceless coin.

What is so exciting in that scene?

Well, basically it fuels two of my fetishes:

1) The “masked women”-fetish:

She uses a wig to mask herself so he wouldn’t recognise her. (ok, not a sexy Batgirl cowl, but…it’s a start)

Then she even puts a gas mask on. In fact a second mask. Now she is perfectly masked and disguised!

and…….

2) scuba/breath control/gas mask – fetish

Ok, she isn’t using scuba gear, but a “breathing device” to enter that room full of gas.

And that sudden act of betrayal, when she rips his gas mask off (unmasking) and thereby forces him to inhale the gas…..damn, very exciting stuff 😉

This “act of betrayal” aspect, can be found in my favorite movie as well. In THUNDERBALL, Angelo, the trapped pilot, thinks that Largo will help him out of his jammed seat harness.

But instead he cuts his air hose and drowns him. (link to the video on Frogwoman.org)

Ok, much more ….evil …like in this cartoon…but it has as well this sudden betrayal/attack.

Well, and this week, I got that comic book that I had read as a child (after a long period of research to find that comic).

And now I understand why that scene attracted me back then.

Still love that scene!

Ok, that scene could be improved as well:

In my version he would quickly react, attack her, trying to rip her gas mask off to use it for himself 😉

What do you folks think about this scene?

Can you remember some of your first contact with mask and/or scuba fetish?
