Catwoman’s first (real) appearance in the Gotham TV show [+ 2 scenes with Selina]

Ok, folks, back to the normal….”post on sunday” schedule!

In the last episode of Gotham (ever), we see a 10 years time jump in the future. And for that they choose a new actress as Catwoman/Selina Kyle. Since Camren Bicondova is still pretty young it would look weird if she would play a ten-year older self. So they choose Lili Simmons (you should know her from the TV series Banshee!) for playing the role.

For this video I included all the Catwoman scenes and 2 scenes with Selina Kyle.

As I just saw this last episode of the series two days ago. I am pretty sad that it is all over.
I had high hopes in that series. It delivered a lot. I hoped for a VERY long run to see Selina and Bruce grow into Catwoman and Batman.
And at the beginning of season 4 Selina put on a mask for two episodes. I hoped that would be the start of her transformation into Catwoman.
Well….yes and no. She nearly always had her black leather clothes and her claws on the gloves. But no more mask and no real Catwoman outfit.

On the good side this first real Catwoman appearance on the show did soften my pain of “parting” a little.
I’m a pretty uncritical guy…but…………….
This Catwoman outfit….well, it looks like they quickly put it together without much thinking or money.
This cowl/mask…. I guess it is no coincidence we don’t get to see it for a real close-up.
This visor on the cowl……MY GOD!!! That is not Catwoman!
No cat-ears??? WHY???? That is not Catwoman!
I guess they were so ashamed of that mask that they didn’t show it in a close up.

What is weird, she is never called Catwoman in the episode. Is that the reason her mask looks like that?
90% of the (at least solid) cosplayers can design a better Catwoman mask than this.

And she pulls off her mask in the middle of her heist……WELL, THAT is a great idea!!!
(seems to be some sort of ….disease under the masked women lately (in Arrow and now in Gotham), unmasking for no reason and risking exposure)

Gotham is over. Arrow is over next year.
DAMN I do need the confirmation that Batwoman will get the OK for season 1.

Ok, two things I do like regarding her mask. It does cover her face pretty well….and…with that 4 press buttons it is secured at least a little (unlike other masks that a child could just pull off with 2 fingers…).

Well, it was good there was this last episode with the real Catwoman…but that outfit is pretty different from any Catwoman outfit from the movies and comics. And the only thing that says “Catwoman” are the claws on these gloves.

My day at the german comic con Dortmund 2019 (spring edition)

This year they had an additional comic con in Dortmund…the spring edition! (The “regular” is always in early december).

After I visited the last 2 that were held in 2017 and 2018, this was my 3rd comic con.

There are several reasons I started to go on these Con’s.

– I wanna see some stars from the movies and TV.

– I like to see all the cosplayers, the artists and the merchandise stalls.

– And I wanna see some masked women like Batgirls, Catwomen, Batwomen, Spider-girls and so on.

….well….the first two worked very good. As I love the Gotham TV show it was a great joy to see so many of the cast in one place. And the other stars were interesting as well!

There were a lot of great cosplays and I found some good stuff at the merchandise stalls as well.

But masked women? Well, yes…but not ONE of real interest to me. There were some “masked” Star wars girls (well, only masked by a lot of face paint). There were a Catwoman, a Batgirl and a Huntress…but all with pretty cheap costumes. There was a Speedy (from Arrow, with an eye mask).

And quite some Spider-girls and Gwens…..but ALL without a mask! I guess they all thought….”they can’t see my pretty face when I’m wearing a mask”. Well, that’s true, but in my opinion running around with the mask would be the right thing to do as it is the “normal” costume (for Spider-Girl/Gwen). I never saw a Batman without a cowl on all these comic cons.

But I know this from Instagram, there a quite a lot of Spider-girl/gwen cosplayers who present most …or all pictures without the mask.

Sometimes I think that is an ego-think…

And somehow I didn’t want to ask them to put on their masks, so I could make a picture 😉

It wasn’t as crowded as on the last 2 cons in december.

Perhaps many folks are happy with one con a year (and only 4 months since the last one). But there will be 2 again next year.

Let’s see if enough folks will come to keep that up.

All in all it was a fun day to remember, even I did not see really good cosplays with masked women. Perhaps next december.

Or I need to find a con were it is all about DC comics…and not to far away. One day I would like to attend the big comic con in San Diego.

Harley Quinn UNMASKED! [Gotham]

In the Gotham episode that was shown last week a masked woman is introduced! A masked woman with three short scenes. And in one she fights against Gordon!

And the chances are very high that this masked girl is/will become Harley Quinn! The villainess that is madly in love with the Joker.

And during the fight Gordon wants to find out who is hiding under that mask 🙂

A very cool scene!

I like the fact that Gordon really goes for her mask at the moment he gets the chance! I hate it when these opportunities won’t be used. Like in the Black Scorpion TV-series. Some villains just walked away after knocking out Black Scorpion….

But you don’t need a mask (unmasking) fetish like us to wanna see the face behind a mask. So Gordon unmasks her…

Ok, she is knocked out during the unmasking, always a minus for me. And the mask is going off to easy…it seems that she only used some sort of glue to stick the mask to her face.

But what I really like is the fact that she is still somehow a little “masked” with that Harley-hood which is still in place. Ok he sees her face completely, but not her hair.

He recognises her but the viewer still haven’t seen her full head.

That is revealed in a later scene….
