Both very cool posters in my opinion!

The right one: Good idea to have Ryan Wilder AND Batwoman on it even they are the same person.

The poster shows all the character that should play a bigger role in season 2, at least from today’s point of view.

Don’t know how big Julia’s role will be, but perhaps she should be on it as well as she was promoted to a regular cast member.

Tough choice but I slightly prefer the left one I guess.

Batwoman: Beyond ….Comics special on a SPECIAL day! [Masks off #41]

To celebrate this SPECIAL day….the day where the Batwoman TV shows starts into its second season (8PM at the CW)…I have a “Batwoman Beyond comics special” for you!

It’s the “Batwoman BEYOND” version from the “Batman Beyond” run.

In that run a version of Batwoman appeared in issues 37 to 42.

For some reason I forgot to post about these comics back then, time to finally do that now!

In this gallery you find the highlights from my perspective with some peril moments and all the (un)masking action!

These pages are from issues 38 to 42. You will find more of course in the comics as I couldn’t put them all in a gallery 😉

I really like that she actually had a secret identity in these comics for a while as not even the reader knew who was under that mask.

The advantage of such a full face mask is ….obviously….that the whole face is covered, so it provides a perfect disguise.

I do love such a mystery! It also provides some opportunities to show scenes where the mask gets damaged or ripped.

Sadly they don’t much use of that here. I mean if someone delivers hard punches to her face or threws her around the mask should get damaged at some point. But well, I don’t know what high-tech material they use in these Batman Beyond masks. So, her costume does only really damaged once through that explosion.

My favorite is the scene where a hand of the villain gets really close to her face as she is lying on the ground. But sadly, it seems like he didn’t want to unmask her as he immediately starts to choke her instead of yanking her mask off. That moron 😉

The self unmaskings are well done even I would have prefered that someone else had unmasked her at one point or at least try to do that.

But in the end these comics with this Batwoman Beyond version are my favorites from the last 5 years!

Batwoman news: Interviews + a new big villain

Season 2 of Batwoman is only DAYS away as it starts THIS SUNDAY, January 17 at the CW at 8pm.

After no fresh episodes since May I’m more than hyped! 🙂

A lot of articles and news surfaced the last days and on this post I wanna collect all the new info prior to episode 1.

Safiyah is one of the big villains in season 2, we know that for quite a while now. She was already mentioned a few times in season 1 and has some connections to Alice and Kate(?).

Shivaani Ghai was casted for that role.

Now we get some first look images + an interesting text on EW:

Now we got news that infamous villain Black Mask also joins the villains of season 2 on the show!

No info on the actor who will play him are out yet….but damn, that’s great news! I always liked his role in the comics and his appearance was one of the plus points of the Birds of Prey movie.

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN – Kate’s friends and family hold on to hope that Kate may still be found, a homeless 25-year-old named Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) stumbles upon Kate’s Batsuit.  Focused on no longer being a victim, Ryan takes the suit to use as armor and goes rogue in the streets of Gotham, taking out various members of a new gang called the False Face Society.  Meanwhile, both Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson) launch searches for Kate, Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) grapples with losing yet another family member, Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) struggles with things left unsaid to her first love, and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) is furious that someone got to Kate before she could exact her revenge.  At the same time, “Bruce Wayne” (guest star Warren Christie) returns under the pretense of searching for Kate, but the truth is he wants his suit back and it becomes the clash of imposters as “Batwoman” and “Bruce” square off in the action-packed season premiere. But that’s not it…here is the detailed synopsis for season 2:

In season two of BATWOMAN, when Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) first discovers Kate Kane’s Batsuit, she has no idea how drastically her life is about to change. A sassy, smart lesbian with a difficult past, Ryan sees the suit as her chance to finally be powerful and no longer a victim as she survives in the tough streets of the city.

While Ryan goes rogue in the shadows, Gotham grapples with their missing hero, believing Batwoman has fled the city after a public stand-off with Commander Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and the Crows. But Kate Kane’s disappearance hits hardest at home where Jacob, Sophie (Meagan Tandy), Luke (Camrus Johnson), Mary (Nicole Kang) and even Alice (Rachel Skarsten) each struggle with the devastating news in their own way. Meanwhile, the False Face Society tightens its grip on Gotham, distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite, “Bruce Wayne” (Warren Christie) finds his way home to wreak havoc, Safiyah (Shivaani Ghai) surfaces with plans for revenge, and a new set of villains descends on the city.

It’s not long before Ryan realizes how much the symbol on the suit means to Gotham, launching her on a personal journey that takes her from fledgling substitute to confident caped crusader, from living in her van with her plant to chasing villains in the Batmobile. Batwoman: Promo pictures for episode 1 of season 2

The Batwoman Promo machine is coming to speed after we finally got the trailer last week!

Quite a lot of question can be asked about these pictures:

Will be very interesting to see how Elliot disguised as Bruce Wayne will act in the early episodes.

What is his goal? How will they find out that it isn’t Bruce Wayne after all?

What does he have in picture number 4 in his hands. I guess a weapon….but what kind?

And Kate Kane disappears and Ryan Wilder surfaces…..will be interesting to see how all of the characters will handle that.

Where does the new car is coming from? The red colored section and the bat symbol aren’t on it at that point.

Who is poiting that gun at Alice? And why?

Oh, the first episode will have to answer a LOT of questions!

Batwoman: Episode titles from season 2 + another teaser

Season 2 is still coming next year, but now we can also say:
….Season 2 is starting next MONTH! ?

Judging by the titles:
1) Well, hopefully we will get some answers to that….only some….at least.
2) That will certainly be about Ryan Wilders criminal past and how she now wants to leave that behing her
3) A wordplay…. this will be the episode were Ryan gets her own/new batsuit. But why “Girl” instead of “Woman”? I doubt it has anything to do with Batgirl.
4) Sounds like a description of Alice(?)
5) Interesting….. an episode with a horror touch? Perhaps the episode with Victor Zsasz?

Interesting pictures that shorten the waiting time before season 2 starts on January 17th 🙂

Will be interesting to see what kind of weapons and gadgets the Batmobile has! A car has certainly more space for them as Kate’s Batcycle had in season 1.

A nice detail: It’s the first time I realise that Batwoman has kneepads on her costume now!

I guess they are quite practical and they look just fine, not too “striking”.

Today the CW released the starting date for season 2!

That’s 80 days to go!

And it’s actually the first Arrowverse/CWverse show that’s coming back!

Black Lightning will return on February 8.

The Flash will return on February 23.

Superman & Lois will premier on February 23 right after the Flash.

Glad that Batwoman is the first show (of the Arrowverse/CWverse) that will be shown next year! I do like Black Lightning and the Flash as well, but I can definately wait some weeks longer for them.

Don’t know what to think about the Superman & Lois show yet. I will give it a try, but so far I’m not thrilled to see it.
