Right in time for Christmas interesting new material have just surfaced!

As soon I got a really big sized version, I will order a poster and hang it up next to the season 1 poster I had ordered last year.

But that’s not it…here is the detailed synopsis for season 2:

In season two of BATWOMAN, when Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) first discovers Kate Kane’s Batsuit, she has no idea how drastically her life is about to change. A sassy, smart lesbian with a difficult past, Ryan sees the suit as her chance to finally be powerful and no longer a victim as she survives in the tough streets of the city.

While Ryan goes rogue in the shadows, Gotham grapples with their missing hero, believing Batwoman has fled the city after a public stand-off with Commander Jacob Kane (Dougray Scott) and the Crows. But Kate Kane’s disappearance hits hardest at home where Jacob, Sophie (Meagan Tandy), Luke (Camrus Johnson), Mary (Nicole Kang) and even Alice (Rachel Skarsten) each struggle with the devastating news in their own way. Meanwhile, the False Face Society tightens its grip on Gotham, distributing a perilous new drug known as Snakebite, “Bruce Wayne” (Warren Christie) finds his way home to wreak havoc, Safiyah (Shivaani Ghai) surfaces with plans for revenge, and a new set of villains descends on the city.

It’s not long before Ryan realizes how much the symbol on the suit means to Gotham, launching her on a personal journey that takes her from fledgling substitute to confident caped crusader, from living in her van with her plant to chasing villains in the Batmobile. Ryan Wilder becomes a very different Batwoman than Kate Kane – her own Batwoman – but with the same understanding of what it means to be a hero.

Sounds like quite a LOT happening in good old Gotham… 😉

Batwoman: Promo pictures for episode 1 of season 2

The Batwoman Promo machine is coming to speed after we finally got the trailer last week!

Now Entertainment Weekly published 9 pictures today.

Quite a lot of question can be asked about these pictures:

Will be very interesting to see how Elliot disguised as Bruce Wayne will act in the early episodes.

What is his goal? How will they find out that it isn’t Bruce Wayne after all?

What does he have in picture number 4 in his hands. I guess a weapon….but what kind?

And Kate Kane disappears and Ryan Wilder surfaces…..will be interesting to see how all of the characters will handle that.

Where does the new car is coming from? The red colored section and the bat symbol aren’t on it at that point.

Who is poiting that gun at Alice? And why?

Oh, the first episode will have to answer a LOT of questions!

Batwoman: Episode titles from season 2 + another teaser

Season 2 is still coming next year, but now we can also say:
….Season 2 is starting next MONTH! ?

….sounds SOOO much better… 😉

Besides that, the episodes titles for the first 5 episodes were revealed:

Spoiler title

2×01 – Whatever Happened to Kate Kane?

2×02 – Prior Criminal History

2×03 – Bat Girl Magic!

2×04 – Fair Skin, Blue Eyes

2×05 – Gore on Canvas

Judging by the titles:
1) Well, hopefully we will get some answers to that….only some….at least.
2) That will certainly be about Ryan Wilders criminal past and how she now wants to leave that behing her
3) A wordplay…. this will be the episode were Ryan gets her own/new batsuit. But why “Girl” instead of “Woman”? I doubt it has anything to do with Batgirl.
4) Sounds like a description of Alice(?)
5) Interesting….. an episode with a horror touch? Perhaps the episode with Victor Zsasz?

Interesting pictures that shorten the waiting time before season 2 starts on January 17th 🙂

Will be interesting to see what kind of weapons and gadgets the Batmobile has! A car has certainly more space for them as Kate’s Batcycle had in season 1.

A nice detail: It’s the first time I realise that Batwoman has kneepads on her costume now!

I guess they are quite practical and they look just fine, not too “striking”.

Today the CW released the starting date for season 2!

That’s 80 days to go!

And it’s actually the first Arrowverse/CWverse show that’s coming back!

Black Lightning will return on February 8.

The Flash will return on February 23.

Superman & Lois will premier on February 23 right after the Flash.

Glad that Batwoman is the first show (of the Arrowverse/CWverse) that will be shown next year! I do like Black Lightning and the Flash as well, but I can definately wait some weeks longer for them.

Don’t know what to think about the Superman & Lois show yet. I will give it a try, but so far I’m not thrilled to see it.

The CW released these two promo pictures of Javicia Leslie in her NEW Batwoman costume (will debut in episode 3 of season 2):

I am (positively) surprised!
Love these new shiny, smooth panels on her costume! Very sexy :thumbup:
Also the red gauntlets are awesome. Thanks god the cowl didn’t get smaller/less concealing like I feared.
The cowl has a chin strap again! :thumbup:

This really fuels my anticipation for season 2 after we got practically nothing in regards of promo pictures and no teaser or trailers so far!

Right now I have a big smile on my face 🙂

Batwoman has a Batmobile now + a glimpse at her new costume!

There were already some pictures of the new Batwoman Batmobile, but now you can actually get a really good look at it!

So it seems that the bike that Kate drove in season 1 got retired for some reason.

Yeah, it’s just a first glimpse on the costume as it was shot at night from a distance.

But you can see that Javicia doesn’t use the red wig from season 1 anymore. As they mentioned it already in the past months….her natural, curly hair is (still) visibile when she is in costume.

Besides that it is hard to say what was changed on the costume as well. Was the cowl changed as well? What about the suit?

Well, I hope that we will get some official promo shots of her in the new costume very soon.

Maybe this leaked material will speed up the process like in the past as all the set pictures surfaced.

Batwoman news: Production paused + Victor Zsasz casted!

More news from the Batwoman production!

The bad news is that the production was paused due to problems with the Covid-19 testing in BC, as the seemingly only lab has capacity problems.

But, on the bright sight this pause will only last for 2 days, so, no big problem for now. I hope that won’t be an issue again in the future.

The good news is that a really cool villain was casted for season 2!

The knife-wielding Victor Zsasz who already appeared in the Gotham TV show and in the Birds of Prey movie, will be facing Batwoman! 🙂

I really like the crazy character, who may not be an “A-league” villain (like Joker or Riddler), but certainly is a “B+ league”-villain.

Alex Morf, the actor who will play him, was actually on the Gotham TV show…but not as Victor Zsasz.

 

Here is the character description:

A charismatic, skilled hitman with high, unpredictable energy. He proudly carves tally marks onto his skin for every victim he kills.

Finally we can see how Javicia Leslie would look as the new Batwoman aka Ryan Wilder!

As the photographer said these pictures are from episode 2 or 3 of the new season.

And well, and from what we can see….it seems very much like she has the same costume as Ruby Rose aka Kate Kane had.

Well, for starters at least….

At the DC Fandome Caroline Dries mentioned that her costume would evolve during the season to really fit Ryan Wilders character.

As you can see it seems that the new Batwoman now may use a Batmobile instead of the motorcycle that Kate used in season 1!

And it looks like the car will get a CGI treatment for the final look. Hard to say how it will look in the end right now.

Some hours later we finally got the first offical picture of Javicia Leslie in the costume!

Ok, you don’t see the full costume as you can only see her head, but it’s a start.

Javicia Leslie posted it on Instagram, and the attached text says:

Look out, Gotham, I’m suited up and ready to go… But just wait until Ryan Wilder puts her own spin on the Batsuit.

So it’s “only” her costume for the first episodes in season 2. Hope we will see her final costume soon!

If you compare it with the cowl that Ruby Rose wore, there are only small differences:

Javicia’s nose is even more covered by it and seemingly they don’t use the black paint around her eyes.

And there is a chin strap on that cowl again!

Looking forward to an official promo poster for season 2 with her!

Well, I have seen Jessica Jones but I don’t remember Leah Gibsons role.
She certainly looks like she could be a fine henchwoman!

I thought that I would know Nathan Owens from Black Lightning but I actually confused him with Jordan Calloway.
His role description is…well….quite bizarre….for my taste:
A former soldier who is now a Zen gardner(!) named Ocean???
Sounds like he really was traumatised a LOT in his former career. ;-)

Looking forward to find out more about their roles!

Batwoman news: DC Fandome (September)

The 2nd DC Fandome was started yesterday and is still available right now for the next 10 hours.

I was very excited about the Batwoman panel on the DC Fandome in August.

Then it was delayed 3 weeks to the new date. Ok, well, 3 more weeks to wait, no biggie. I hoped that they would produce some promo material in the meantime……

I mean the panel was interesting and fun to watch…..BUT….if you have such a panel with a good 40 minutes runtime….you should present SOMETHING at the very end.

A 30 second teaser, a poster …or at least just one promo image for season 2!

All the talk was nice and interesting….but….no “real” news about season 2 🙁

Caroline Dries explained that there would be two major topics in season 2:

1) Watching Ryan Wilder grow into the role of Batwoman with her background as she wasn’t treated well by the system

2) Kate’s disappearance and how it affects everybody differently.

Also it was mentioned that Ryan Wilders batwoman suit will be different or “evolves” differently (from Kates version) during the season so it would be fitting to her persona.

These “mini-reveals” are interesting, but not really thrilling as they were already mentioned in the past or are predictable developments that follow aspects you already know about.

I watched a lot of panels from other shows as well, at least Batwoman is in good company.
The only panel with some exciting reveals was the Titans panel. And these reveals were even already in the shorter version that was presented 3 weeks ago….

Actually the “InsiderVerse” was nearly more interesting as there a lot of interesting videos.
I “saved” a lot of them to watch on a later date. 😉

Well, as the filming is running now for 10 days I hope we will get some news or promo material very soon. It is needed!
I hope for a tiny teaser in early october and a longer season trailer in November.

Some promo pictures and posters should also pop up in the next weeks/months.
