P.S.:
Sorry for the delay in case you have been waiting, but there were some football/soccer related ….issues….
Today it’s all about the Batwoman TV show on this blog as the season finale is about to be aired today (9 PM on the CW)!
Of course, I have seen many season finales of many TV shows over all the years…it’s always a bittersweet feeling for me.
Especially with a show that I follow so intensively like this one. Even before the episode airs it’s a bitter feeling as the fact that it will be the last episode until October 13.
Luckily the show does come back for another season (and hopefully some more beyond that) and the break is much shorter than it usually would be.
It’s also a sweet feeling! After all the build-up towards the season finale….I expect a lot of action and drama in it…and a nasty cliffhanger to keep the tension towards season 3. 😉
And from what was already teased and released….A LOT will happen in this episode! As we already could see in promo pictures, Batwing will make his debut in this one!
Also team Batwoman has to fight Circe, Black Mask, and all his goons, incl. Tavaroff who will receive a special “treatment” 😉
And on top of that…they have to do that without all the gadgets that Circe sole! Luke will have a lot on his “to do” list. Not only he needs to make another suit for Ryan, but he also has to make his Batwing suit as well plus some gadgets for both of them. I wonder how he will pull that off…. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would get help….but from who? That is the big question!
They have to find a way to bring Kate back and restore her memory fully. Does someone have the password that Enigma used on her? Will Kate be herself at the end of the episode? Or will she still be Circe and will be a villainess for season 3?
Many questions that need answers! Can’t wait to see the episode tomorrow as I can’t see it live. I will need to be VERY cautious tomorrow to avoid spoilers until I can watch the episode.
Here is a promo poster that the CW made for the finale:
–
Interestingly Circe-Kate isn’t on it, but Jacob is. He wasn’t shown in the last episode, will he be even shown at all ….besides maybe a phone call scene?
What about Julia and Angelique? Both are missing from the show for quite a while now….. But it would be cool if at least one of them would make an appearance!
I can imagine that Julia might arrive in Gotham just in time to make a difference in the final battle 😉
And what will Alice’s role be in that finale and beyond that? Pretty sure she has a score to settle with Black Mask as well and perhaps she will end up fighting side by side with team Batwoman in this one.

Thanks to the friendly guy who recommended me this scene!
Especially as it is a scene from a long-running TV show that I don’t find easily ….if I am not watching it.
Preview:
Caught by surprise by…
…this masked burglar!
She does like her toys 😉
Who is hiding under this mask?

And here is the video:
…..WHY…. don’t I find burglars like her in my apartment? 😉
–
Watch the video first!
Ok, let’s start with what I would change about this scene. The scuffle should be at least a little longer. Also, it would be great if there would be an attempted unmasking before the actual successful one. And… it would be much better if we would see her face AS the mask gets removed, sadly the camera only shows her unmasked face as a result of the unmasking.
On the good side…. there is quite a lot! The actress under the mask is hot, the fight is well made and I like her simple, but effective mask! She is concealed really well and it’s great that the two know each other. It’s interesting that the burglar really likes the other woman but decided to put up a fight and not just unmasked herself. Good decision! 😉
They are working together later in the episode, but sadly, she only wears her burglar outfit, but not the mask. Otherwise, I would have posted these scenes as well.

*EDIT* June 16:
The starting date of season 3 has been announced yesterday!
Batwoman, season 3 will kick off on October 13 (Wednesdays from then on)!
So, the break between season 2 and 3 won’t be very long 🙂
Along with that, the starting dates of more CW shows were announced as well:
That one is on my upload list for a while and it’s time to post this one!
This one features Jet Li VS some evil folks on motorcycles. And as you can guess, not all of them are men 😉
They all are wearing helmets with mirrored visors, so our evil biker chicks is fully concealed.
Preview:
She knows how to handle her bike!
Time to unmask you!

Here is the video:

Watch the video before you continue!
Yeah, not exactly a “traditional” unmasking, but I like the reveal.
It isn’t even clear to the audience that that biker is a woman, so the surprise is quite nice. Pretty sure that might be a man on the bike before she finally flew to the ground.
What I really don’t like is what happens after the reveal. He realizes it’s a woman he fighting and then he doesn’t want to fight her because he wouldn’t hit a woman.
What a sexist crap is that? Yeah, the movie is 20 years old, but damn, it’s just so disrespectful to her. She is a skilled fighter who wants to kill him and he doesn’t take her seriously.
And the whole thing to use the other woman to hit her….oh man. Silly, embarrassing comedy….in my opinion.
I cut the scene some seconds short to avoid problems with youtube. She falls on that metal bar and gets impaled what they show with a weird sort of (unbloody) x-ray animation as the metal thing goes through her heart.

P.S.:
Yesterday was live football/soccer I had to watch, so I watched the episode but didn’t have the time to write the review, as that takes several hours all in all.
To records live sport is just not a good option 😉
On the next 3 Batwoman Mondays, it will be the same as the EURO starts and I will watch many/most games.
So, the reviews and videos will be up on early Tuesdays.

P.S. 2:
Today the first official pictures of Batwing were posted! Check out Luke Fox as Batwing:

Well, I think the costume looks rather…..awesome! Can’t wait to see him in action!
I’m not a fan of this show, and it was already canceled by Cancelflix after just one season with 8 episodes.
Even the season had only 8 episodes you could have easily told the story in 3 or 4 episodes.
And the idea to explain the backstory of (most of) the heroes in back flashes throughout the whole season(!) was really bad in my opinion.
But let’s focus on the good parts! The show provided two interesting scenes after all.
Let’s start with the most interesting one!
Preview:
The masked heroine!
She likes her….
swords…. 😉

The scenes weren’t welcome on Youtube, so check it out:
…sorry, had to remove it…..you are too late…
–
Watch the video first before you continue!
Ok, the bad news is…..that was her only scene in this mask and costume in the entire show. What a wasted potential…. 🙁
The costume is pretty great! Also I love the mask, it disguises Raikou’s face well and the material is well chosen! Ok, the cowl could use a chin strap for security reasons…but ok, not a major flaw.
Would have been so great to have seen her in more scenes…especially if some bad guys would get curious to see the face under that mask! 😉
It’s great that some of the masked “henchfolks” are actually (masked!) henchWOmen! It’s a pretty cool trend that the bad guys nowadays employ female fighters as well for their evil deeds. 10-20 years ago you could barely find any henchWOmen at all. I like the masks that they are wearing, a nice bonus feature!
In the very first episode, there was an interesting scene as well.

Villainess VS
Hero!

Yeah, I’m not a fan of those sci-fi costumes that can appear out of nowhere. I much prefer the “normal” version that you have to get on like normal clothes.
The fact that a villainess attacks bad guys who already are on a robbery…is pretty cool!
The fight isn’t that interesting, and her “costume” is rather lame…except for the boots. But the end is quite nice as her mask is just damaged enough that we can see one of her eyes.
And as you should know by now….I like to see damaged masks 😉 , a rare view!
The scene is already pretty great, but if you know the context around it….it’s even better.
Preview:
“Take off your mask!” he demands
She is really afraid….
….as she starts to pull her mask up!
–
And here is the video:
–
I just love such a scene! Really great how he demands that she unmasks herself.
And her reaction is great as well! Her mouth open, barely visible under that net cloth over it. Her eyes show how afraid she is to lose her mask, how afraid that he will soon find out who is hiding underneath that mask.
And the great thing is: They know each other…..verrrrry well 😉 ! She is actually working with him in the agency with some …”benefits” included ;-).
But at the same time, she is also working with the bad guys! If he would see her unmasked face….she would be totally finished. For her, everything is at stake at that moment. And she sells that very well and it’s great that she buys herself some crucial seconds as she is really slowly unmasking herself. Also, her mask shows how serious she is with her masquerade. She uses black face paint around the eyes (more on that later), the eye openings on the mask are very small, and with that net cloth, you can barely see her mouth….a very effective mask.
Another plus point for me is the rare type of unmasking. It’s a foiled (forced) self unmasking. I love attempted unmaskings as well, and they are rather rare as most of the unmasking attempts are successful.
–
So, I do have two BONUS scenes for the visitors of this blog!
The first scene of the following video shows her and the other bad guy just before the scenes of the video above.
The second scene takes place some minutes later at the very end of the episode.
Enjoy!
–
Yeah, sadly she doesn’t unmask herself onscreen, but this scene where she puts the mask on is not bad! Especially seeing her with these panda eyes….is a very rare sight!
I added the second scene to show you how she looks without the mask and also to show how close they (seemingly) are. But he has no idea that he pointed a gun right at her masked face earlier that day. 🙂

Wanna know from which episode of Alias this scene is?
Yesterday the CW announced their fall schedule for the 2021/2022 season.
Batwoman is still paired with Legends of Tomorrow but moves now from Sundays to Wednesdays (9 PM).
From what I read the CW had always trouble getting good numbers on the weekend, so this may be good news for the show.
Until now the CW didn’t even have original programs on Saturday, that will change now. But all of the Arrowverse and other “big” shows will run during the week now.
Supergirl will continue with the 2nd half of their last season then as well.
Don’t know when the 2nd season of “Superman & Lois” will start.
–
Also, the first 5 episodes of season 8 of “The Flash” will include heroes from the other Arrowverse/CWverse!
Of course, I hope that Batwoman and maybe other characters from the show will make it to Central City to appear on the Flash in these “mini crossovers”.
Even it is no “full” crossover I am very much looking forward to these episodes. Due to the pandemic, we got no crossover during this season, so it’s certainly good news 🙂
Today I will watch the very last episode of Black Lightning.
Season 4 is certainly not my favorite one but I will miss the show. After Arrow, it is the 2nd show of the Arrowverse that ended, and Supergirl will air their last episode later this year as well.
If you don’t know these ones yet….you are very lucky as you now will see some great cosplay pictures!
And the chances are quite high that you will love these pictures 😉
(click on the picture to enlarge it to full size!)
–
I don’t think I have promised too much! 😉
The model looks stunning and I really like the costume! The cowl is really good as well.
I LOVE all the secret identity issues in many of the pictures. Looks like villainess Punchline found out somehow that Batgirl is Barbara Gordon, as we only have these pictures…we have to speculate how she did it.
The third picture is soooo great, Punchline with pictures of Batgirl and Barbara Gordon….while Batgirl has her cowl in her hands as she masks…or unmasks(?)….herself.
Pictures 6 and 7 are ….well…..fantastic! I love how Punchline presents the cowl of Batgirl triumphantly while the battle-bruised Batgirl realizes the predicament she is now in!
As Punchline knows her secret identity she is now totally at her mercy. Of course, there would be a way out of it for Batgirl if she can free herself…..but as a heroine, she can’t really kill a villain. Or can she? 😉
The last picture isn’t from that storyline, but I just love it as well!
Batgirl tied up, fighting against her restraints…while Harley and Poison Ivy are playing with her 😉
Love how Harley yanks at one Bat-ear while her other hand is toying with the chin strap of Batgirl’s cowl!
Looks like these two are curious……to find out who is hiding underneath that mask!
What I would give to have such a scene in a movie or TV show!!!! But sadly the big majority of the villains are not curious enough to unmask the hero/heroine.
And if they find out who is behind the mask….they do it without yanking the mask off (I hate when that happens).
I wasn’t sure if and how I should post about this, but I finally made up my mind. 😉
Last week’s Batwoman episode ended with a big cliffhanger, but days later some set pictures were posted that incl. a major spoiler for the Batwoman finale of this season.
I don’t wanna post the picture here as you then would have no chance not to see them….in case you don’t wanna be spoilered.
So, I just leave a link here. It’s totally up to you if you click on it or not, think about it!
