A woman gets chased by a monster…. and runs into a woman in a gas mask!

I am currently re-watching a TV show that I enjoyed a lot during the first watch nearly 10 years ago. For years I have had it on Blu-ray already… and now it was time to finally watch it for a second time!

And quickly there was a scene that fits very well on this blog! Ok, it would fit also on my other blog… but I decided that it fits a little better on this one.

So, what do we have here?

A female doctor who runs from a monster… and runs into a masked woman in a gas mask!

Damn, that scene was a great surprise back then 🙂

A mysterious woman in a gas mask? Damn, I wouldn’t mind running into such a sight…

A great disguise with the added hood (+the breathing gear factor).

Sadly, the reveal is cut short as the camera doesn’t show the final unmasking.

I guess due to the added hood and her long hair which would look a little “messy” if you pull the mask off.

Would have loved to see that moment as well.

But I love the mystery as soon as the female doctor sees her for the first time.

How is she? Why is she wearing that outfit?

She doesn’t know that she can’t get the crazy virus by air and did come up with that outfit.

A good choice as we so get to see her like that. 🙂

Of course, I would have loved to see someone trying to unmask her or ripping off that filter… in another scenario… but no luck.

The breathing sounds are done really well and the filter with the short air hose is a great look and bonus as I do love air hoses on breathing devices.

All in all a really good scene!

In earlier episodes two doctors were wearing quite tight hazmat suits in white… if you are interested in that.

Will continue to watch the season and hope there are some more scenes like this one.

What do we have here? We have 4 women (incl. the getaway driver) who wanna rob a bunch of cash.

And they are wearing rubber masks and huge trenchcoats as disguises!

I really like how seriously they take their disguises!

Male rubber full-face masks, big padded trench coats, only very little dialogue.

I wanted to hide the fact that they are women, and I think that worked pretty well.

The unmasking in the back of the truck is well done, had to re-watch that scene sometimes as they unmask simultaneously 😉

Of course, I would have loved a fight or struggle with a guard, but no luck.

What I would give for a hand clawing into such a mask and ripping it wide open… exposing the face of the woman beneath.

This scene is the start of the movie, sadly there are no more scenes with them in masks later in the movie.

Ok, the idea that these two big guys sitting in that room and she can’t see (or hear) them before the light goes on… is a little stupid.

But if you ignore that …it is a pretty good scene!

I think it is a stuntMan for the scene outside the window… but not 100% sure.

It would be quite embarrassing in 2023 when the film was made.

The really interesting scene is inside the building anyway.

Ok, I wish she would at least try to put up a fight, even if it seems rather hopeless without any weapons or gadgets.

The (more or less) forced self-masking is done quite well.

The camera fully stays on her and the unmasking isn’t too fast.

Her reaction to the unmasking is too “mild” but ok.

There are some more scenes with a masked woman later on in the movie… but that mask is incredibly ugly and there isn’t a good reveal.

 But feel free to check it out…

I envy the big guy who is just sitting there and waiting for some thief to show up!

Damn, that is pretty much like I wish my life would be when I have some valuable stuff to steal 😆

As soon as I am rich I will have a competition where (attractive) women will be challenged to steal something from me.

With some prize money involved for the best cat burglar….

Of course, they would all have to wear good sexy costumes and masks 😉

Out of a hunch I investigated as I hoped to find a masked woman in this one… and I wasn’t disappointed 🙂

Thought about making a longer video… but it’s a new show so I had to end it there to increase the chance it could be on YouTube.

I love the tension building buildup towards the unmaskings 🙂

Obviously, the good ninja was expecting someone else under the mask, it would certainly be interesting to know.

I haven’t seen the whole episode or season yet, maybe I will.

The reveal of the masked evil woman was done really well as she slowly unmasks and then you see her creepy smile after the reveal 🙂

I like that both quickly put their masks back on, makes a lot of sense, especially with the villainess as that heavy mask also protects her face.

A nice bonus to have a third masked woman as well… even the colors of her outfit are quite ….uncool to say at least.

That scene is the highlight of the season when it comes to masked women… as far as I know.

But perhaps I find a little more if I watch the whole thing instead of skipping through it.

I watched the whole movie as it is about a gang of 5 women who rob banks and cash trucks in their spare time 😉

I cut out 2 short scenes (without masks, without action) so that the video would be a bit shorter. Hope it can stay on Youtube…

There is a short bank robbery at the beginning, where they are fully masked as well, but the audience doesn’t know that they are actually women.

They do a good job of hiding that.

Perhaps I will upload that scene as well in the future.

But then you have a whole movie about the traumatized female detective and some side plots that are all pretty uninteresting.

It then takes until the very end of the movie as they finally have another heist.

The masks are a very good disguise and I really enjoy the “mask talk”.

Since most of you don’t understand German, here is a translation for you folks:

The woman takes off her mask in front of the guard.

“Hey, have you ever thought that women would rob you?”

Other woman: “Are you nuts? Put the mask back on… NOW!”

“Come on Theresa, it is getting boring…”

“Put that mask back on!”

 

Damn, some sexy lines 😉

Also, I like the dark-toned music… quite a lot.

Also, I did enjoy that the guy managed to take down one of them.

I was so hoping that he would unmask her… but then he got shot… DAMN IT!

So, in the end, we only have 2 self unmaskings in that scene.

A lot of wasted potential… but certainly some good scenes in this one.

Quite a crazy shootout…

The ending has some spaghetti western vibes to it 😉

Yeah, her interpretation of being Zorro is rather …..unusual 😆

At this point in the story, she is more like a villainess than a heroine.

I really enjoy the scenes a lot where she is masked. It’s a good disguise (apart from the face paint she is also using without the mask) and besides her people and him, nobody knows who she is underneath that mask.

The secret identity is intact. But that might change in a future episode… 😉

The quick self-unmasking and re-masking here is also a nice treat in this one.

Here we have quite a long scene where three fully masked women rob a bank!

And they are quite young… teenagers more or less (even though the actresses were older than that… like mostly).

Well, they really take their disguises seriously… well done!

The two who were in the bank:

Hood, full face mask, gloves, bandana, sunglasses, voice changer

And also clothing that doesn’t tell that they are women. Not sexy, but certainly very wise!

An A+ for effort 😉

Yeah, the security guards were pretty useless, and there were no attempts at unmasking them 🙁

But the three self-unmaskings are well done and nice reveals as you don’t have the slightest clue how they might look like.

The scene happens very early in the movie so even if you have watched the full movie you haven’t seen their faces beforehand.

I also like the scene where the bank woman gets close to the one bank robber and recognizes her by that armband. Nice tension 🙂

Well, I love the tension! How she hides under that mask so that her evil prisoner won’t find out who she is.

It drives me mad that he recognized her eyes and her voice and thereby found out who she is … even with the pretty good mask she used.

She was one of dozens of patients that guy had in the last weeks… so I find it really hard to believe that he would recognize her from her voice and the little of her that he

can see.

If that would work like that most superhero masks would be pretty useless 😉 … even a good disguise like the Batman cowl.

As I watched this movie I really hoped that the bad guy would be able to free himself and then unmask her in a nice struggle.

But he failed big time… 🙁

Nonetheless, I really like this scenario and the tension… as long as he didn’t know who the masked woman was.

Well, I guess that may be the most unfitting mask I have ever seen on a woman 😆

Looks like she needs a size S or M but choose a XXXXL mask for her heist.

Maybe it was a practical thing for the filming to not “ruin” her hair and/or have a very easy unmasking?

Or maybe she as a burglar chooses it to even disguise her better.

Anyhow, seems like that mask just could have been blown off by a slight breeze.

Not a very sexy mask, but surely an effective disguise.

I don’t get why she takes off that mask in the room with the safe, as it is risky… even if it is a closed space.

Maybe it was the old “we must present her pretty face as often as possible” trope from the producers…

But at least she quickly re-masks as the alarm goes off.

A shame the guards weren’t even able to find her… so, as often… no fight scene with the masked woman 🙁

I wish these guards in most movies would be a little more competent…

That is the only scene with her in a mask in the movie.

I love such “secret identity in danger” scenarios where a masked heroine gets under pressure to protect her secret identity from getting destroyed!

She is under big-time pressure to quickly change into her “normal” persona Tessa so that her nosy friend doesn’t find out that she is actually the Queen of Swords.

And the very nice “bonus” where she almost walks out with her night robe still wearing her mask… is great!

Imagine Vera’s face if she would have seen Tessa with that mask on… 😆

That would have been quite embarrassing…

So, we get a nice self-unmasking which is quite rare in this TV show… I guess there is only one more in it.

All in all a thrilling scene for me, and also a bit funny as well.

Well, if you know the Bond movies… you should immediately have recognized her!

Yeah, that is Maud Adams who was a Bond girl in not just one… but two Bond movies (“The Man with the Golden Gun” & “Octopussy”)!

The movie in general has an interesting cast… but seemingly is pretty much forgotten since the best available source… is a VHS rip. 🙁

I will watch it in the next few days as I am curious enough to see the whole thing.

But now to the scene itself:

I already love the opening as she is breathing (oddly) heavily on that mouthpiece. Was she running low on air or was she just… a little …. excited? 😉

Sadly… just a very short scene… but would also be somehow fitting to my other blog Frogwoman Org!

Also quite cool that she is skating out of the place! Certainly haven’t seen a masked woman doing that so far…

The unmasking and reveal are done well… I was certainly surprised to find Maud Adams under that mask!

Cool that she transforms quickly into a regular outfit and thereby fools the security guards 🙂

Of course, I would have preferred if that would have fought against them and they (at least) tried to unmask her…

But all in all, a really cool scene!

My TOP 25 scenes from the Black Scorpion TV show!

I created this video last year for the annual “October to Remember” event on the “Behind the Mask” forum.

It’s time that the video now gets available for visitors here and on my YouTube channel as well!

Here is the original text from my forum post then:

I worked on this over a couple of hours, skipped through the whole season, made notes, and rated scenes.
Then I cut every scene to around 30 seconds or so.
I edited all of that together and added some pictures, lettering, and some score.

So what did I make?
Quite a long video with my TOP 25 scenes of the Black Scorpion show.
My initial idea was to make a TOP 22… because of 22 episodes… but well…. 25 sounds cooler.
I could have made a TOP 50 with good scenes as well… but I think this video took long enough.
I will upload this one to my blog in December… but for the next … at least … 5 weeks this is an exclusive video for this site (unlisted on Youtube).
Between the TOP 10 scenes, you will see official Black Scorpion promo pictures.

So, take your time (15 minutes) and I hope you enjoy it!
….perhaps you might even wanna make a game out of it in terms of guessing which scenes will be in the TOP 10 or so….
…. the first scene will begin after 15 seconds….

You will find the rank of the scene in my ranking and info from which episode it is in the line at the bottom.

Some scenes were edited to make them a little more compact… so that the video wouldn’t get too long.

I thought about putting headlines into the video like “Black Scorpion gets unmasked by Flashpoint” … but that would spoil it… for those few who don’t know these scenes.

Yeah, it is just a self-unmasking and they “cheated” with the camera moving behind her head like that.

I guess that way she could just wear a very simple, plain face mask on her head.

But nevertheless, it’s still a nice reveal when she yanks that face and wig off her head.

The real villainess just walked in a little too late… otherwise, they most probably would have unmasked her…  #timing

A villainous couple in their full face mask disguises [FFMTISE]

Ok, in the past I posted practically no scenes with unmasking where a woman is wearing a “full-face mask to impersonate someone else” aka a FFMTISE (my newly created short form 😉 )

Time to change that!

I wanna start with a rather new scene from 2022 that most of you won’t know… I guess.

In this one, we have a villainous couple and their special disguises.

Quite odd how her haircut slightly changes between the two scenes even though all that is happening on the same day 😆

Ok, first of all, I love it when a woman impersonates another (attractive) woman with such a mask.

In the first movie of this movie series, she was impersonating a very old woman, which I don’t find very interesting… unless someone would figure it out and try to unmask her.

Yeah, it’s only a self-unmasking in front of someone who already knows who is behind the mask.

Also, the CGI effects of the unmasking(s) are really bad.

Yeah, this isn’t a Hollywood movie with a big budget like Mission Impossible where you have such unmaskings quite often.

Such masks aren’t easy to make but it is doable …even without a big budget.

The lazy and cheap CGI solution looks really bad and ruins the unmasking to a certain degree (for me) 🙁

Ok, I guess many “normal” folks without an unmasking fetish won’t care much when 😆

Primarily I am a little disappointed how little these new movies with Diabolik are doing with secret identities.

I mean he is a criminal who is wearing a latex mask(!) during his heists and she becomes his accomplice in the first movie.

So, I hoped that she would put on a latex mask herself… but no luck (so far).

Another hope I have is that someone will figure out that something is wrong when she is wearing such a FFMTISE.

The person then would reach for her mask, damaging it, thereby verifying that it is actually a mask and not a real face.

And then they would struggle and the person would try everything to fully unmask her!

I would love to see that one day…

Well, the movie is only available in Turkish, so haven’t watched it fully and don’t have a big clue on what is going on exactly.

Ok, there are some German sentences and these I do understand (no surprise) but those don’t help much.

But the scenes with the two masked women are really nice and I also like that we get to see both unmaskings as well, even if it’s only self-unmaskings.

Not a big fan of that net structure part on that Balaclava mask… looks weird.

The other woman has some tactical outfit of the German police… rare to see that on a woman, especially in an international movie/TV show.

Interesting that they all seem to be on the same team, so it looks like they can all escape.

On the other hand, it would have been nice to have the masked “villainess” to fight the masked police woman #unmaskingbattle 😉
