Of course, I had hoped that then Batgirl would be in the show….but the plot takes place years after she quit being Batgirl as she was severely injured and actually lost a leg(!), unlike in the comics.

That news pretty much killed a lot of my anticipation towards the season, but I decided to watch it anyhow.

And that was a good decision as I enjoyed the 7 episodes that have been aired so far.

In one of these episodes, we get 2 scenes that are very well suited for this blog!

Well, that was a NICE surprise! Barbara Gordon as a masked thief

A little disappointing that she unmasked herself, but well, still a really good scene.

I like how she makes fun of Robin and fights him with just one hand.

The second scene is also good as she gets in real trouble there! Of course, I hoped the villainess would reach for the mask or a punch would unmask Barbara as her mask isn’t exactly well secured.

These scenes are placed before she actually became Batgirl.

I do HOPE that we get more flashbacks of her….would love to see her in the Batgirl costume, even it may “only” be the one with an eye mask.

Ok, her mask is more like a fashion item in the show and doesn’t really give her a secret identity, but a mask is a mask.

And this mask is solid and covers enough of her face

For this video I edited two scenes together. The first scene os from episode 12 of season 2 and the 2nd is from episode 13.

Some fine fight scenes and I like how she unmasks her father and then herself at the end.

There are some more scenes with her in mask, but nothing with action if I remember right.

Would be nice to see more from her in season 3 if she is still around then. Perhaps then she might have a secret identity and fights against people who don’t know who is under that mask.

Some INTERESTING news on season 3 of Titans:

On the DC Fandome they talked about the upcoming season 3 of Titans.
They confirmed that
A) season 3 will be set in GOTHAM! (Oh…. the possibilities for appearances of masked women!!!)
B) there will be also a commissioner Gordon! And not the one YOU think! It won’t be Jim Gordon….it will be BARBARA Gordon who leads the Gotham police!
That is already good news!

Of course it doesn’t mean that Barbara will dress up for her other job at night….but who knows? It wouldn’t surprise me if Barbara is frustrates as hell with the police in Gotham and pursues justice in a more “direct” way….at night

At the DC Fandome on September 12 there will be a 30 minute panel, hopefully some more news already shows up there.
The panel on the last weekend had only 15 minutes.

Quite a while ago Ravager was in season 2 of Arrow, here my post from back then (with Summer Glau as Ravager)

She had a great rubber cowl and actually was unmasked! Even they cheated on that big time….

In this clip, we have Hawk, who runs a mission on his own and gets into heavy trouble. Luckily he has a partner….a masked, female partner/lover who may come to the rescue

And in a later scene, we have an appearance from Robin as well!

Ok, these two were pretty new to me. And I get the name Hawk and the idea behind it is somehow cool. I mean a Hawk is a mighty and pretty cool animal.

And which animal does she choose as a template for her name and costume? A…DOVE….

Besides the fact that Dove dressing up as a Dove (!) isn’t exactly cool as the animal is “uncool” because ….well, it’s pretty much a flying rat. And that’s a…odd choice for a heroine.

Ok, they have a big cage with doves on the rooftop, but that doesn’t make it better

However, she knows how to fight the bad guys….and THAT is pretty cool, especially the way she saves him from a very evil fate by kicking down the bad guys.

And after some seconds in the video you know already….this show isn’t for kids. A pretty dark and violent series. Pretty much the opposite from “The Flash” for example.

And that is a nice variety for sure! However, I do like the Flash series.

Ok, what is no big surprise and annoys me again….HE gets a real, rubber mask/cowl….and what does our heroine has as a mask? A cheap pair of goggles from a costume shop. I guess hiding her identity isn’t so important . If she would at least wear a wig as Dove…

Even if that mask covers up quite a lot for an eye mask.

But I guess that mask would come off with one placed punch to her face.

But ok, enough complaining from me. We have a masked heroine who kicks ass! And that’s always a good thing!
