The Batwoman TV show had an unsatisfying ending as it ended as a normal season would end. And a few weeks later it was announced that there wouldn’t be another season at all.

But luckily, Batwoman now returned… even if it was only for a scene in the Flash show.

And she isn’t the only masked woman in this scene

It felt really good for me to get this final appearance from Batwoman/Ryan one year after the Batwoman show ended pretty abruptly.

Also cool that a Ryan Wilder from another dimension is Red Death here, the masked villainess.

She also appeared in the two previous episodes but sadly she unmasks herself very quickly so there is no suspense about who she really is.

Somehow funny how she carried her self-unmasking fetish over to a new masked character ….

Sadly her mask is a high-tech thingy and these self-unmaskings are really lame.

Would have been so great if that would have been a normal rubber cowl and they would find out who she is by unmasking her.

But… as often… that seems to be a big taboo.

Flash gets actually captured and tied up by the villains in a previous episode and one actually wants to unmask him.

But then another mentions that the Flash cowl would electrocute everyone who would try that… and then the topic is off the table completely

Of course, I hoped here that Red Death would rip apart Batwoman’s rubber cowl in order to show her dominance… but no luck

At least Red Death gets unmasked here, even if it is so quick that is hard to see… and they cheated with the unmasking of course….

I am very glad though about this fight as it’s quite rare to have a fight with two masked women!

Later this month I will re-watch the last season of Batwoman as one year has passed since the last episode was aired.

Damn… I really miss having a TV show with a masked woman as the lead character….

Just a quick post:

Javicia Leslie will be in season 9 of the Flash in a double role!

She will be Batwoman/Ryan but also [su_spoiler]Red Death! A female version of a big villain.[/su_spoiler]

After Batwoman’s own show was not renewed earlier this year it had a very unsatisfying ending.

I’m glad that she will be back and hope she will be in many episodes! Also, I’m looking forward to this double role, very interesting.

Would be nice to get a little more “closure”.

After the Arrowverse is ending soon it will be one more reason to look forward to the last season of the Flash!

I hope for many masked ladies in that one, would be a nice farewell gift

This time I wanna put the focus on her again as she wants to put her power to good use… and therefore she gets a new costume and cowl!

I decided to show her unmasked face in the pictures above as she already was seen unmasked in my post from last week.

Ok, as always, I am annoyed about how careless these guys and girls are with their secret identities as they unmask in public way too often.

She even runs around without a mask in the beginning. Yes, she has super speed so no one can identify her while she is running….I guess.

But some back alley isn’t exactly a safe place to run around in costume…without a mask! Especially during the day. At any time somebody could show up and could see their exposed faces!

Also, as I mentioned before, I HATE this “magic” masks a LOT! It’s a complete, insane fantasy that that might ever work.

But for the movie folks, it’s a very easy and convenient way to have a quick unmasking, without hassling with an actual mask that might be difficult to remove. And Barry’s hair just looks perfect after the “unmasking”

I really like her costume a lot! It basically looks like a smooth skin wetsuit with some extras. The black fabric looks really great and I think that it is very sexy.

Her mask is sadly (but logically) from the same lame fabric as the Flash mask, it’s ok…but nothing like the great rubber cowl he wore in earlier seasons.

BUT… it covers her face well enough and it’s a solid disguise and I would love to have her around in much more episodes, but after the ending of season 8, that doesn’t seem to happen…and well season 9 will be the last one anyhow.

Seeing a woman in such a costume and cowl in this show was a real treat for me and was a great way to end the season after it had quite a lot of boring episodes in the mid-section.

My version of a Flash TV show would be like this:

A woman as the Flash

A woman that is taller than “Fast Track” and is a little curvier in a certain region…

Use that costume, but add a massive rubber cowl to it. (like Flash had in early seasons)

And there is NO damn magic way for her to mask or unmask!

Also, there would be some villains who are actually interested in her secret identity!

And they would actually try to find out who she is by trying to remove her mask! (Yes, that is actually a possibility…. looking at you… Batwoman TV show)

She wouldn’t self-unmask every 5 minutes

Adding some sexy villainesses (some masked) to it.

Use very little fantasy and magic. The Flash has her superpowers but only very few villains would have some. The villains would have their ways to sabotage her powers and would rely on some gadgets.

So, finally a new interesting scene from the Flash TV show for this blog!

After watching the first 13 episodes of the last season 8 I decided to take a break from the Flash as the show was getting less and less interesting for me over the last years.

The beginning of season 8 was nice as it had the big Flash Armageddon event where Batwoman and Canary showed up.

After these episodes, the season got quickly rather boring for me. Weird storylines and lame action aren’t good things to have

But I knew that the end of the season would have some episodes that might be interesting for this blog so I resumed watching the show.

Today I wanna show the first scene with a very interesting character, and this is only the start… I will make another post about her in a real costume next weekend.

Well, I like the mask combo with the hood plus the half mask covering the lower part of her face.

Seemingly it’s forbidden that someone ….even tries… to unmask a masked woman in a movie or TV show these days…. so I had no big hopes that the Flash would actually unmask her.

So, her self-unmasking was rather easy to predict

But with the hood and the half mask, it’s at least a good reveal as her face was covered really well.

And as I said, this is only the beginning… she will have a really good costume and cowl after this episode

Well, the bad news is…… Batwoman/Ryan didn’t return to Central City for another appearance, so she was only in (the last moments of) episode 3 and in episode 4.

The good news is that (new) Green Arrow finally showed up.

She had some nice scenes but without any secret identity issues at all, as they (team Flash) know who she is under her tiny mask and the villains don’t care (at least the hood adds a bit extra disguise).

I’m still a little sad that she didn’t get her own show as they canceled the Spin-off with her and the canaries.

So I guess this may have been her last appearance as Green Arrow unless she will make appearances in other future crossovers.

All in all the Armageddon event was …well….nice. Entertaining with some odd story aspects here and there.

Lately, they come up with way too many convenient crazy sci-fi gadgets whenever they are needed. There is basically no problem they won’t have some sort of gadget for.

The Flash is now on break until March 9.

Batwoman will return on January 12 and I’m very much looking forward to it!

Right now I’m careful as we know only little and I am afraid as hell that they will have a Batgirl in a Burnside costume with an eye mask or that “helmet” thingy (aka cowl without a chinstrap).

But it does sound really great to have another TV show that will have masked female vigilantes and villainesses in it!

Already there are speculations that this TV show might be some sort of successor when the Batwoman TV show would end.

If that really is the case it would be good to have some sort of replacement like this new show, and I (and others) would have something to look forward to.

But right now, in the middle of season 3 of Batwoman, there is no news about a 4th season….so far.

Perhaps they will make the 4th season and then Gotham Knights would be the next show after the 4th season has been aired.

Or both shows will run simultaneously at the CW.

Hopefully, there will be news soon.

As you may know by now this event takes place in the first 5 episodes of season 8 of The Flash.

Ryan first briefly appears in the last moments of episode 3.

This week, episode 4 aired and finally, we get some real screentime of both.

Yeah, Batwoman is only there for a short action scene, but at least something. Later on, Ryan appears in a short scene with Iris as well, but that’s it for this episode.

These scenes play 10 years in the future, or to be more precise….in A possible future.

So, it’s hard to say how serious to take all of it….at least for me.

In this future, Ryan and Sophie wanna adopt a child which is a possible hint that they might end up together like some folks including me, are thinking.

But well, as I said, it is A possible future….so hard to say how this episode can be seen as an indicator of how things will develop.

It’s a fun episode and as there is one more episode to go….I hope that Batwoman will return for that!

So far, the (new) Arrow hasn’t shown up so I am thrilled for her appearance in the next episode.

If you have read my other Stargirl reviews here (on season 2), you should get that I was quite disappointed how little Stargirl and Wildcat actually were in the episodes of this season, even the episodes were entertaining and interesting.

Well, for episodes 8-12 they weren’t in it all, and only one episode of the season had a lot of screentime with them.

Now, in the season finale, I got “compensated” quite a lot as there is quite a LOT of screentime with these two…. and also quite a LOT of good scenes as well

Finally, there is an episode with a lot of action again and I really enjoyed the whole showdown with Eclipso!

My favorite part was the Wildcat VS Wildcat fight, even I did curse at my TV after it was over for some special reason

I just love this matchup as Eclipso let Wildcat imagine the original (male) Wildcat would fight her. And the original kicked her ass quite well for most of the fight as this was her nightmarish vision.

BUT…….it was SUCH a wasted opportunity to UNMASK Wildcat! Why? Well, they fight about who would be the better Wildcat. He even says something like “You don’t deserve to be Wildcat!” to her. So…..what would be better than to unmask her and thereby show her how much better he is (in this vision) and also to strip her of her powers at the same time? She would have been beaten if he had unmasked her. As she got the costume in season 1, it was totally not fitting to her, but as she completed the outfit by putting the mask on, the costume adjusted to her body and she got her Wildcat powers.

So, my guess would be that she only has her powers as long she is wearing the mask. It would have been really great if he had reached for her mask and yanked at it while she is desperately trying to keep the mask on. Well…..no luck

But nevertheless, I loved all the scenes with Stargirl and Wildcat fighting Eclipso and his visions! So great to see them in action, especially after their long absence.

There were quite a lot of peril scenes with Stargirl as well, in the whole showdown with Eclipso she was beaten, choked, and tossed around. I think it looked a little cheap the way she looked as she was possessed by Eclipso, but ok, no big thing.

It was great seeing all these characters coming together to defeat Eclipso. I was surprised that The Shade was still alive and that even all the three “evil” Crooks showed up.

Season 3 will be aired next year and I’m very curious to see which characters will still be around then and what roles they will play. Looks like Cindy really will be one of the good guys then, hopefully, then she will get a mask to her costume as all the other women are wearing one to protect their “secret” identities.

Seems like the Shade will be still around then, I guess Grundy might show up again, even he is “indisposed” for now.

Will Jade be still there? So far, her role was quite small.

And what about Starman and Rick? Will they play a role without powers?

And what about the bad guys? In the end scene, Mister Bones was shown for the first time.

But there are also the three Crooks, who now live next door to the Whitmores and Cameron might join the bad guys as well.

Well, looking forward to the new season….until then I might re-watch episodes 6 and 13 of this season once or twice

The Flash will start his new season (8) on November 16 with the big “Armageddon” 5 episodes event as I mentioned in the past.

This season the Flash didn’t offer many highlights for me. A lot of episodes with uninteresting plots. Iris wasn’t seen in pantyhose and/or boots the whole season so far.

No masked villainesses or heroines.

In the episode before this one, this started to change a bit as Sue and her awesome catsuit were in a scene where she breaks into a well-secured building.

To my frustration, she broke in there without wearing a mask! Good plan! Walk into there and perhaps a security guard or a camera can see your face….. and you are screwed BIG time!

I yelled at my TV but that didn’t change anything

Especially odd, since she was wearing a full face mask (impersonating another person) in an episode last season (link).

And otherwise, I would certainly have posted about it here with a video.

Luckily, one episode later we get Sue and her awesome catsuit AND the masked villainess Ultraviolet who shows up here and there throughout the show.

Yeah, Allegra is also in the scene but without adding much fun to it….even the fight scenes are decent.

I added two short scenes to the one longer scene in the coffee shop to give Sue …and her awesome catsuit …a little more screentime!

They have a couple of more scenes in the episode as well! But I choose these scenes as my highlights.

If Sue would combine a cowl on that catsuit….that would be FANTASTIC! Perhaps made of the same material as her suit…or latex…or rubber.

What we have here is already pretty great …in my opinion. Of course, a nice unmasking would add a lot to it, but unfortunately, they both already know who is hiding underneath that mask.

But finally, this was a Flash episode that really was interesting again! At least Sue seems to stay on the show as she mentions that she will stay in Central City for a while. And perhaps she might have another scene with a mask as well.

So…hopefully this won’t be the last time I post about season 7 of the Flash!

Batwoman is still paired with Legends of Tomorrow but moves now from Sundays to Wednesdays (9 PM).

From what I read the CW had always trouble getting good numbers on the weekend, so this may be good news for the show.

Until now the CW didn’t even have original programs on Saturday, that will change now. But all of the Arrowverse and other “big” shows will run during the week now.

Supergirl will continue with the 2nd half of their last season then as well.

Don’t know when the 2nd season of “Superman & Lois” will start.

Of course, I hope that Batwoman and maybe other characters from the show will make it to Central City to appear on the Flash in these “mini crossovers”.

Even it is no “full” crossover I am very much looking forward to these episodes. Due to the pandemic, we got no crossover during this season, so it’s certainly good news

Today I will watch the very last episode of Black Lightning.

Season 4 is certainly not my favorite one but I will miss the show. After Arrow, it is the 2nd show of the Arrowverse that ended, and Supergirl will air their last episode later this year as well.

Glad that Batwoman is the first show (of the Arrowverse/CWverse) that will be shown next year! I do like Black Lightning and the Flash as well, but I can definately wait some weeks longer for them.

Don’t know what to think about the Superman & Lois show yet. I will give it a try, but so far I’m not thrilled to see it.
