Batwoman UPDATE – August 25 —- [EDIT: August 26]

It’s time for a quick Batwoman update!

Season 3 is 49 days away (October 13) and it was rather quiet in the last weeks after the 3 casting announcements earlier.

Some set pictures surfaced on social media and I wanna show them here, first these two:

If you check out these pictures in detail and watched the episodes you can spot a small costume change.

As you can see in this comparison from Batwoman Brasil:

….they seemingly changed the wig a little as it has less “volume” now in season 3, and it seems that the hair is now a little longer.

Will have to see if other shots will confirm that, but I’m pretty sure this change is no accident.

Well, I do prefer the new(er) look as the wig is less dominant….which is a good thing for me.

And when I see these first two pictures….I can’t wait to see Batwoman and Batwing in their first action scenes together!

Also, I do hope that we will see some promo material very soon!

More news on Batwoman!

It’s not about season 3 this time….but about the Flash TV show!

To be precise it’s about the first 5 episodes of season 8 of The Flash.

Among other characters, Batwoman will appear in this 5 episode event that is called Armageddon! 🙂

Ok, I don’t know how big her part in these episodes is…but even if she would be only in one episode for 5 minutes….it would be great.

And I think she will have much more screentime than that 😉

It’s also nice to see Atom and Black Lightning again…as well as Alex as “her” Supergirl show should be still running by then.

But …besides Batwoman…. I’m most excited about having Mia Queen back in her costume and mask!

For me, it was sad news that she and the other Canaries didn’t get the TV show that she deserved in my eyes.

Well, first Batwoman comes back in October (13), and ….starting on November 16… we get this “Armageddon” event with 5 episodes.

I’m very much thrilled! 😉

More Batwoman casting news

As the filming of season 3 of Batwoman is already underway, we get more casting news!

Creegan will play Marquis Jet. A sexy playboy who grew up in a lavish lifestyle, Marquis is too charming for his own good and wields his power with a ne’er do well attitude. He views life as one big joke and that sense of recklessness has a tendency to clash horribly with his no-nonsense mother Jada Jet. When he meets Ryan (Leslie), he sees in her a like-minded young go-getter who like him is just waiting for the right opportunity to make his mark on Gotham.

Will be interested to see what he is up to and how that will most likely collide with Ryan and Batwoman’s plans! I guess he might become some sort of villain in the season.

Batwoman and Batgirl casting news!

I’m a little late with sharing the news, so it’s about time to make a post here with all the relevant news of this week (so far)!

1 – Filming for season 3 of Batwoman started on July 19

I hope that the Covid restrictions are now less of a problem as they affected the filming of action and intimate scenes in season 2.

So far it’s unknown (to the public) how many episodes will be made, of course, I hope for as many episodes as possible 😉

2 – Victoria Cartagena has been cast for the role of Renee Montoya [Batwoman, season 3]

Victoria played the same role in the Gotham TV show and now she returns to the role in the upcoming season 3 of Batwoman.

At IMDB she is listed for 22 episodes in the Gotham TV show, but in 15 of those as “credits only”.

I do hope that her role in the Batwoman show will be a little bigger.

Also, it will be interesting to see how her relationship with Batwoman/Ryan will be. Will she find out that Ryan is Batwoman? Will she work alongside Batwoman? Will they even become a couple?

I predict a sure “yes” to the first two questions. Not so sure about the other one… 😉

So far I haven’t seen much of Victoria….but that will now change very soon.

3 – Leslie Grace will play Batgirl in the upcoming HBO Max Batgirl movie

This movie is in development for the last 400 years (feels like it) and now it finally has an actress for the leading role!

Leslie Grace will take the double role as Barbara Gordon and Batgirl.

On her own Twitter channel, she describes herself as “Singer/Songwriter” and “Sony Music Latin Artist”.

Her IMDB entry is very short as she has little acting experience…so far.

I have never seen her on-screen, but I will check out some of her music videos for sure in the upcoming days.

Looking forward to seeing how she will look and act in the role of Barbara Gordon and Batgirl.

I do hope that she doesn’t get one of the newer purple Batgirl costumes….but I have a bad feeling about it.

I hope the movie will now quickly made progress and will debut in 2023, which should be doable.

But until then we will get a lot of more news on it and I’m looking forward to it.

Robin joins the Batwoman TV show in season 3!

That’s how you do a clickbait headline! 😉

Yeah, Robin does join the show in season 3, but not “that” Robin…..

It was announced yesterday that Robin Givens will play “Jada Jet” as a new series REGULAR:

“A powerful CEO for Jet Industries, Jada isn’t bossy: she’s the boss. Passionate and hard-working, a woman who has worked her way through life’s ups and downs to climb her way to the top — all while being extremely protective over her impetuous son. A woman with a deep past that forced her to give up her first-born child, Jada is a woman with a good heart, but will do whatever it takes to protect her family.

Well, that sounds a LOT like she will also be Ryan’s birth mom….AND….that Ryan seemingly also has a brother! Hard to say how big his role will be.

Will be very interesting to see why her mother abandoned Ryan! Hope there is a really interesting story behind all that…..

Only some hours left before the season 2 finale of Batwoman!

Today it’s all about the Batwoman TV show on this blog as the season finale is about to be aired today (9 PM on the CW)!

Of course, I have seen many season finales of many TV shows over all the years…it’s always a bittersweet feeling for me.

Especially with a show that I follow so intensively like this one. Even before the episode airs it’s a bitter feeling as the fact that it will be the last episode until October 13.

Luckily the show does come back for another season (and hopefully some more beyond that) and the break is much shorter than it usually would be.

It’s also a sweet feeling! After all the build-up towards the season finale….I expect a lot of action and drama in it…and a nasty cliffhanger to keep the tension towards season 3. 😉

And from what was already teased and released….A LOT will happen in this episode! As we already could see in promo pictures, Batwing will make his debut in this one!

Also team Batwoman has to fight Circe, Black Mask, and all his goons, incl. Tavaroff who will receive a special “treatment” 😉

And on top of that…they have to do that without all the gadgets that Circe sole! Luke will have a lot on his “to do” list. Not only he needs to make another suit for Ryan, but he also has to make his Batwing suit as well plus some gadgets for both of them. I wonder how he will pull that off…. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would get help….but from who? That is the big question!

They have to find a way to bring Kate back and restore her memory fully. Does someone have the password that Enigma used on her? Will Kate be herself at the end of the episode? Or will she still be Circe and will be a villainess for season 3?

Many questions that need answers! Can’t wait to see the episode tomorrow as I can’t see it live. I will need to be VERY cautious tomorrow to avoid spoilers until I can watch the episode.

Interestingly Circe-Kate isn’t on it, but Jacob is. He wasn’t shown in the last episode, will he be even shown at all ….besides maybe a phone call scene?

What about Julia and Angelique? Both are missing from the show for quite a while now….. But it would be cool if at least one of them would make an appearance!

I can imagine that Julia might arrive in Gotham just in time to make a difference in the final battle 😉

And what will Alice’s role be in that finale and beyond that? Pretty sure she has a score to settle with Black Mask as well and perhaps she will end up fighting side by side with team Batwoman in this one.

The starting date of season 3 has been announced yesterday!

Batwoman, season 3 will kick off on October 13 (Wednesdays from then on)!

So, the break between season 2 and 3 won’t be very long 🙂

Yesterday was live football/soccer I had to watch, so I watched the episode but didn’t have the time to write the review, as that takes several hours all in all.

To records live sport is just not a good option 😉

On the next 3 Batwoman Mondays, it will be the same as the EURO starts and I will watch many/most games.

So, the reviews and videos will be up on early Tuesdays.

Batwoman news: New weekday for season 3 episodes + The Flash “mini crossovers”

Yesterday the CW announced their fall schedule for the 2021/2022 season.

Batwoman is still paired with Legends of Tomorrow but moves now from Sundays to Wednesdays (9 PM).

From what I read the CW had always trouble getting good numbers on the weekend, so this may be good news for the show.

Until now the CW didn’t even have original programs on Saturday, that will change now. But all of the Arrowverse and other “big” shows will run during the week now.

Stargirl will start beforehand in August.

Supergirl will continue with the 2nd half of their last season then as well.

Don’t know when the 2nd season of “Superman & Lois” will start.

Also, the first 5 episodes of season 8 of “The Flash” will include heroes from the other Arrowverse/CWverse!

Of course, I hope that Batwoman and maybe other characters from the show will make it to Central City to appear on the Flash in these “mini crossovers”.

Even it is no “full” crossover I am very much looking forward to these episodes. Due to the pandemic, we got no crossover during this season, so it’s certainly good news 🙂

Today I will watch the very last episode of Black Lightning.

Season 4 is certainly not my favorite one but I will miss the show. After Arrow, it is the 2nd show of the Arrowverse that ended, and Supergirl will air their last episode later this year as well.

Batwoman….spoiler(s)!

Last week’s Batwoman episode ended with a big cliffhanger, but days later some set pictures were posted that incl. a major spoiler for the Batwoman finale of this season.

I don’t wanna post the picture here as you then would have no chance not to see them….in case you don’t wanna be spoilered.
